The assessment of the effectiveness of nursing care can involve the staff and the patient, which means a subjective human factor in the evaluation. This can lead to barriers in the observational assessment, such as incorrect selection of evaluation criteria or inaccuracies when comparing these criteria with a particular behavior (Ghashghaie et al., 2021). Also, an erroneous determination of the degree of consistency between the goals and the patient’s responses can be a barrier. To properly evaluate the nursing process and overcome these barriers, it is necessary to know which aspect is subject to it, have sources of information for its implementation, and clarify the evaluation criteria. In my opinion, it is best to give this feedback in writing. Such an assessment allows the staff to identify the strengths and weaknesses of their professional activities. Also, the nurse will be able to study the document several times to understand it. In this way, it will be easier for nursing staff to use specific evaluation criteria to compare the available results of care with the desired ones.
When determining the audience for the simulation scenario, it is necessary to pay attention to the nurse’s ability to apply the knowledge of the organization of nursing care. The audience also needs to demonstrate an understanding of the leading causes, clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, and principles of treatment. It is necessary to evaluate the student’s current level of knowledge, skills, and abilities in the framework of the program in terms of theory; however, it is worth focusing on practice. Thus, the most crucial element of the assessment will be the successful implementation of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions in interaction with the participants of the treatment process. To prepare students for clinical practice, the main elements of the curriculum, such as practical classes, are necessary and designed to deepen students’ knowledge. The case study method and critical case analysis also effectively help prepare students for the upcoming practice.
