Measurement of the pulse allows one to evaluate the main parameters of the work of the human cardiovascular system. Heart rate indicators are among the most accessible to obtain. With regular pulse measurements, a person will be able to notice disturbances in the functioning of the body and the cardiovascular system in the early stages. Therefore, this research paper evaluates and compares the heart rates of two people and establishes the factors that can influence this parameter.

As part of this study, the pulse of two people was taken and compared. Pulse measurements were taken on the inside of the wrists using the index and middle fingers (Your heart rate, 2022, para. 6). To establish heart rates in minutes, beats were counted over 10 seconds, and the results were multiplied by 6. In addition, in both people, the pulse was measured in a calm resting state and after minor physical exertion. As a result, the first participant had a resting heart rate of 68 beats per minute (bpm) and, after exercising, 126 bpm. The second participant had slightly higher readings at 82 bpm at rest and 158 bpm after exercise.

As a result of the comparison, a significant difference was found between the participants’ heart rates. Nevertheless, all measurements correspond to the norm, which indicates the absence of significant disturbances in the functioning of the cardiovascular system (Your Heart Rate, 2022). Given that both participants are of the same age, the difference between the indicators may be due to other factors. These factors include fitness level, body size, medication intake, caffeine intake, and smoking (Your Heart Rate, 2022). The results may be inaccurate since the pulse was taken in the afternoon.

Thus, the study established the difference between the heat rates of two people of the same age. Even though the difference between the indicators both at rest and after exercising is quite significant, all the obtained indicators correspond to the norm. An essential factor is that in both people, the pulse was taken in the afternoon; external factors can affect the accuracy of the results. It is crucial to monitor the pulse regularly, as it allows one to evaluate the body’s work and take the necessary measures in time in case of deviations.
