As I prepare to become a nursing student, I expect to study, volunteer numerous times in the hospital, and have a traditional learning experience. Nursing requires extensive commitment, passion, and collaboration with other practitioners. I expect to learn using various equipment in supervised learning and an independent environment. Nursing is a great profession to find myself in since I will get to help people and save lives, and I expect every day to be a whole new adventure. My experience in college will prepare me to be successful as a nurse.
Discussion
I will make the most of my nursing learning experience by being professional and prepared, asking questions, displaying initiative, and nurturing connections. Displaying professionalism during my college experience will prepare my competency skills as a nurse in the long run. Mental, physical, and technical preparation will enhance accountability, punctuality, and effectiveness critical to my practice. Research shows asking questions creates the capacity to build emotional intelligence, enhance understanding, and lend to advanced soft skills (Patelarou et al., 2020). Manifesting initiative by performing what is expected will enhance learning outcomes and problem-solving abilities beforehand. Nurturing relationships will help me discover new leads and business opportunities elemental to my career success.
Conclusion
The Baccalaureate degree prepared me to provide registered nursing care in numerous settings and ascend to administrative and leadership positions. Following transformations made in healthcare in the U.S., the nursing role will continue to be crucial in communities. I appreciate learning to be a nurse is challenging and commit self-directed commitment, passion, time, and resources to graduate as a nurse.
