The concepts of creation and evolution were largely debatable within science and the church. In this essay, the biblical point of view on these phenomena will be discussed. The Bible proclaims that God created everything from nothing. This doctrine has been validated by the Church, based on the first passage of the Bible: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the world” (Genesis 1:1). There are several fundamental principles that define the biblical understanding of the world’s creation. God created and supported everything; moreover, God created with purpose, and he continues to actively support and nurture his creations. The belief in the Trinity, Jesus Christ’s complete divinity and humanity, and his physical resurrection from the dead are all essential biblical concepts connected to creation and evolution. Conviction in redemption by grace through faith alone in Christ was included in the creation and subsequent evolution.
Evolution is not the greatest scientific explanation for how life on Earth has changed over time, according to the biblical viewpoint. Natural selection, speciation, and random mutations were never accepted by the church as explanations for how all nonliving and living creatures came into being and developed. The atomic hypothesis, according to which everything that exists is the consequence of a chance collision of microscopic components, severely departs from the Bible. Furthermore, Bible teachings contradict Darwin’s theories. The essential principle revealed in Genesis has the answer to these contradictions and is closely connected to the context of creation – “He created them male and female and blessed them” (Genesis 5:2). Within this framework, there is no way to evolve from one species to another. Overall, being in line with the biblical viewpoint, both creation and evolution are related to God alone.
