Introduction
Constant changes in the market trends directly affect the global corporate order. Regardless of countries’ sizes, different governments and business organizations focused on digital transformation completely overturn the competitive alignment of forces and create new forms of activity. At the same time, there are cases when some authorities are not able to move quickly, and their work becomes irrelevant. Keeping business performance under increasing pressure leads to a non-stop search for optimal strategies for working and enhancing productivity. One of the desired conditions is obtaining the greatest profit and providing the maximum number of services with the lowest production costs and spending fewer resources. In order to achieve such an advantageous mode of activity, it is essential to take into account many aspects and factors affecting the quality of government services. Based on the assessment of potentially effective strategies and examples of well-known corporations, it is possible to determine how to spend all possible resources on delivering more services with fewer resources. The active introduction of technology is the basis for governments’ transformations. Opportunities to allocate resources profitably open up due to the well-organized policy of implementing modern management methods.
Customer Orientation and Compliance with the Market Expectations
Technology allows governments of all sizes to deliver new products and services. They help official boards to create more with fewer resources, whether serving millions of users or preparing projects for introducing in public policies. According to Walker and Keenan, information technologies are implemented not only to improve convenience but also to attract the target group, strengthen governing positions, and provide consumers’ positive assessment (92). The modern tools of facilitating the work process, for instance, high-quality software, allow the representatives of the authorities to reduce costs and make a working space safer. Therefore, within the framework of the organization of activity conditions, innovations can enhance the potential of inner country power.
Innovations provide the population with a wide range of choices, thereby increasing the potential of economics. Today, different governments have to provide the population with services that should meet market expectations, and demand is the variable that is directly proportional to changes in orientation policies. One of these forms is personalization, which allows drawing the individual attention of people to specific services. A special approach can now be maintained in real-time based on preferences, habits, and the history of human interactions.
The Example of the Netflix Company
The world-famous company Netflix is one of the leaders in the provision of digital television services, broadcasting popular films and TV shows for a large audience. As Salah et al. note, this corporation learns from user preferences and eventually begins to recommend those programs that they should like (303). The creators of Netflix experiment with suggestions based on clients’ mood, which makes the program’s interface client-oriented and personalized to the greatest extent. This approach allows the corporation to keep the interest of a large audience, and all the costs that are needed to create such technologies are fully paid off due to a large number of subscribers around the world. Costs, in this case, are limited by the need to develop appropriate software. However, the company does not need to spend large sums on marketing campaigns and building partnerships because, firstly, Netflix is one of the most well-known digital platforms, and secondly, the provided service is better than any advertising. Therefore, this approach based on focusing on the individual interests of consumers is a successful mechanism for implementing the program to expand possibilities and, as a result, increase profits.
Amazon’s Services and Approaches
Another major global brand focuses on the smooth operation of its service, emphasizing such factors as constant access to the possibility of ordering goods. As a tool for monitoring productivity and ensuring stable operation, Amazon uses digital mechanisms as its primary resource. The work of such corporations coupled with the growing availability of brands on social networks has led to new operations regimes. Consumers expect companies to be ready to answer questions, take orders, and provide support day and night. An opportunity to receive expert advice opens the prospect for placing orders at any time, which has potential benefits for the company and its assets. According to Ritala et al., Amazon’s digital platform that offers its customers free shipping within 2-3 days has made a significant contribution to strengthening consumer interest (236). Using the abundance of data about past orders, searches for products, and consumer trends, the company began to focus on personalization and an individual approach. Thus, customer focus allows minimizing the cost of the new mode of operation and makes it possible to realize the trading potential to the maximum, while spending less money on marketing.
Digital Revolution as the Way of Maintaining Positions
In the world of electronics, innovations in governing approaches enable authorities to create specific digital services, while maintaining a high level of quality. The analogs of modern trends are access to electronic utility payment services, the possibility of online consultations with the representatives of the authorities, and other modern features – everything that ensures the ideal user experience on different devices. This trend is a digital revolution that is the natural process of technological progress. Governments can spend less money on paying more jobs that become unnecessary. As Tukker remarks, the active development of the technological base gives a possibility to satisfy a large number of people due to the emergence of high-class services based on the use of digital sources (76). The population is dissatisfied if it faces poor services and a bad client-official interaction. Even a single unsuccessful experience can be costly for authorities because there are feedback sharing platforms, user forums, and other means of exchanging opinions on the quality of service. Therefore, increasing the authority of governments is largely carried out by updating the digital database to satisfy the needs of the maximum number of people.
Investing in funds to ensure the smooth operation of digital services may be minimized if officials monitor citizens’ interests carefully. For instance, there is no need to spend much money on an interface that has no significant advantages and is unlikely to be of interest to people. On the contrary, the target audience can refuse such services and protest against the irrational use of budget funds. According to Walker and Keenan, the slow digitalization process harms business success in the context of the widespread expansion of technological capabilities (93). Consequently, the more active governing boards monitor the market and, in particular, the high-tech environment, the more positive prospects are to gain population recognition and make more money without spending too much.
Operational Challenges Faced by Modern Governments
To meet people’s expectations in all directions, it is crucial to adhere to an active managerial position. It is becoming increasingly difficult due to several factors – differing demands, opposition forces’ dissatisfaction, and other reasons. Governments are forced to adopt a new holistic approach to creating a table managerial position and providing services. It does not matter whether a particular board or its leader uses the operational ways of working, for instance, control over compliance with laws, innovation policies, or the allocation of budget funds based on people’s needs. As a matter of fact, governments around the world try to take a fresh look at how they do their work. They use old ideas (for example, a fundamental approach to controlling market relations) and combine them with new principles and capabilities to set a new standard for operational efficiency. Among the key challenges faced by governments, there are several difficulties that should be taking into account to satisfy citizens’ needs and not to lose profit.
Control Automation
As the trend of introducing software as an element of service captures new frontiers in public automation, critical population and product data are spread across several isolated systems. Finding out where specific information is and when it was last updated may be a serious obstacle for officials. Therefore, to avoid such a problem, it is necessary to organize a comprehensive and advanced system of control over all electronic operations within cities and countries’ economics to prevent the loss of valuable data. Otherwise, it will be extremely problematic to restore essential information, which will inevitably affect the outcome of the work conducted and the productivity of the decisions made adversely.
Communication Overload
Popular messengers, notification systems, and e-mails form a rather high level of distraction for people. For instance, critical messages and related information from banking or tax services may be lost, which is fraught with the lack of valuable data and, as a result, troubles. To avoid such a problem, it is necessary to establish such a system when no external factors distract from direct purposes. It is not always essential to spend many financial resources on the development of expensive software to achieve people’s satisfaction. Standard notifications sent by such large companies as, for example, Amazon allow providing customers with important information about their purchases and products without creating a sense of intrusiveness and excess information (Ritala et al. 239). This practice may be borrowed by those governments that do not use a well-established notification system.
Analytics Overload
Due to the digital revolution, the data collection process has been dramatically simplified. However, the comprehension and interpretation of the information that is received regularly have become extremely difficult tasks, and it applies to not only labor costs for analyzing specific data. It is difficult to create valuable executable ideas based on all the information received. According to Tukker, for this purpose, the management governments should engage competent and experienced analysts who can think over the working regime of officials and make timely decisions concerning the need for interventions (84). Consequently, a reasonable recruitment policy should be established so that professional employees could receive jobs in governing boards. Otherwise, the work will be meaningless, and no significant predictions regarding economic prospects and potential performance improvement measures will be taken.
The Need for Scaling
Successful governing principles imply scaling state influence and processes beyond official responsibilities. The need to keep the situation in a certain area stable and maintain peoples’ satisfaction with the current law is a complex task. Nevertheless, an opportunity to join forces and collaborate with different representatives of authorities is the chance of supporting the position of the government. As an example, various large corporations can be taken as a base – Apple, Coca-Cola, and other world-famous brands. These companies have not always had such influence as today, and the competent policy of expanding influence has allowed them to increase their business significantly and open branches in almost all the countries of the world. The challenges that accompany this process arise regularly – the need to satisfy the interests of a specific population class, tax liabilities, and other difficulties (Walker and Keenan 98). However, despite potential complexities, effective work to expand the governing role and establish cooperation among different departments may bring substantial dividends by involving new resources, thereby providing relevant services and increasing their quality.
Performance Quality and Workload Distribution
When spending much time in the workplace, company specialists do not always distribute assigned duties effectively. It, in turn, is fraught with problems caused by an increased workload and insufficiently high productivity outcomes. As Salah et al. remark, the company’s management is forced to resort to attracting new employees, which leads to increased costs and the need to train specialists (287). To avoid these expenses, it is possible to focus on strengthening the retention policy and the reasonable distribution of workload. If employees are highly motivated, it will contribute to avoiding significant costs, thereby saving finances within organizations and spending them on additional goals – marketing campaigns, the development of the production base, and other working aspects. Thus, focusing on internal resources, it is possible to save money and ensure high-performance results.
Additional Ways of Increasing Services
To increase and advance the number of services without spending many financial resources, it is possible to pay attention to other ways of controlling governing procedures. For instance, the representatives of authorities may introduce the system of voluntary public assistance through valuable proposals for the modernization of certain areas. Officials are not always aware of current problems and gaps in public spheres, and citizens’ help can be useful for changing specific services for the better.
Another potentially effective strategy is building partnerships with public communities. Cooperation with individual boards may allow controlling over as many areas as possible without the need to involve many employees. Moreover, the quality of provided services may be increased due to the possibility of the comprehensive monitoring of those spheres that belong to different governing structures – social needs, tax systems, and other branches. These ways of expanding services can be effective if the right strategies for their implementation and introduction are maintained.
Conclusion
The effective implementation of new technologies and governing principles in the resource allocation process may allow authorities to provide the population with more services without spending many financial resources. Various strategies supported for the successful implementation of productivity plans include the use of staff retention techniques, the introduction of innovative controls, expansion, collaboration, and engaging citizens. Following the competent principles of governance is a key to the effective achievement of goals and people’s satisfaction.
