Introduction
Modern countries constantly invest in the development of healthcare systems and technologies to guarantee positive health outcomes for citizens. In this context, Germany has set specific healthcare objectives, tasks, and strategies associated with using information technology (IT). It is necessary to discuss how IT is used to develop the healthcare system in Germany and the role of the government in this project.
Healthcare Goals, Objectives, and Strategies
The main goals and objectives of the German healthcare system are to provide accessible and equitable medical services for all citizens. Therefore, the healthcare system has the following branches: outpatient, inpatient (hospitals), and rehabilitation care. To guarantee high-quality care, the system is funded based on insurance obligatory for citizens (Dadaczynski et al., 2021). The healthcare strategy is to promote the insurance system and provide quality and comprehensive medical care for the population. This is achieved through the implementation of regular prevention programs.
The Use of IT in Healthcare
Information technology in healthcare improves the quality of medical services. In the healthcare system, e-health cards, medical records, and digital reports store and share information. Additionally, the use of health promotion applications and online medical resources and platforms is spreading (Dadaczynski et al., 2021). These technologies also help track how financial resources and insurance premiums are used and what measures are taken to improve the quality of medical care.
The Role of Government in Healthcare IT
The German government plays a limited role in the healthcare system but promotes its digitalization. Self-government is typical for healthcare in Germany. However, it provides financial support for the development and implementation of IT and associated laws. Since 2018, the government has taken many measures to improve healthcare IT processes and increase the efficiency of medical services (De Santis et al., 2021). Recently, the government has also been introducing new regulations and IT to improve access to healthcare.
Conclusion
The healthcare system in Germany has undergone significant changes in recent years, with a focus on digitalization. The system aims to provide accessible and equitable medical care for the entire population. To achieve this goal, the government of Germany actively promotes the use of IT. All of these initiatives will help medical workers provide quick, effective, and quality medical care for the citizens of Germany.
