It is necessary to note that uniquely juvenile offenses have been actively discussed over the last few years, and it is a topic that can be quite controversial in most cases. The fact that the set of offenses is different for every single state also needs to be taken into account, and some of them should be discussed.
Truancy can be described as not being present at an educational facility without valid reasons. It is necessary to understand that this is a significant problem that needs to be addressed because children are likely to participate in activities that are against the law when they are not under supervision (Dembo & Gulledge, 2009). Abuse of alcohol and drugs should be viewed as particularly problematic because it may be dangerous to their health and well-being. The problem is that many parents do not pay enough attention to this critical issue, and they do not understand that it frequently leads to offensive behavior. It is imperative to determine the reasons behind such actions, and why teenagers want to skip school on daily basis. In my opinion, this is a necessary measure because young individuals should have an understanding of a fact that it is an offense that is punishable and may lead to severe consequences in some cases.
Ungovernability is also a critical problem that needs to be addressed because such individuals cannot be controlled by parents or the government, and their behavior is antisocial. It needs to be mentioned that some of the actions would not be punished if they were grown-up. Also, it is necessary to understand that young individuals may not have an understanding of their responsibilities and why they behavior may be viewed as problematic. The fact that they may suffer from issues in the family and the school also needs to be mentioned. The most significant problem that needs to be mentioned is that most parents are not capable of controlling such children, and outside help may be necessary most of the time. It is understandable that such actions cause no harm, but they still may be regarded as incredibly dangerous (Shubik & Kendall, 2007). Such behavior should not be acceptable, and there is a need for intervention because a teenager may cause psychological harm to himself or others. It is also imperative to mention that girls are much more likely to be status offenders, and this aspect should not be overlooked (Siegel & Welsh, 2014). A unique approach should be considered for every individual to achieve best possible results. It is evident that these young people are in need of help, and the responsibility of the government is to ensure that such issues are resolved. In my opinion, this approach should be regarded as reasonable because this behavior frequently leads to offenses and such individuals are much more likely to participate in criminal activities. Miscellaneous status offenses also should not be disregarded, and they may be incredibly problematic in some cases. For example, the ones that are related to tobacco, a misdemeanor, and others are also punished.
In conclusion, it is imperative to note that I agree with status offenses that exist in the state because I think that they are necessary. It is understandable that many individuals do not agree with this approach, but the consensus has been achieved. They should not be regarded as a waste of time because the overall goal is to ensure that self-destructive behavior is addressed, and it may be viewed as a preventive measure.
