One of the healthcare sector’s major challenges is the rising costs of services that discourage patients from seeking medical attention. Furthermore, many hospitals are struggling with a high number of admissions that make them overwhelmed, thus reducing the quality of services offered (Shao et al., 2022). Little bed capacities make it difficult for most hospitals to make regular admissions.

Advanced nursing practice has played a vital role in addressing the healthcare sector’s problems. The goals of this specialty include using technology to provide quality healthcare services through efficient diagnosis tests, making prescriptions, and effectively monitoring the progress of the patient (Schober, 2018). Additionally, advanced nursing practice aims to research emerging illness and provide the necessary information to develop treatment and prevention mechanisms. Finally, this practice aims to offer the relevant leadership qualities essential for developing solutions to the problems facing the healthcare sector. These goals and visions closely relate to the emerging trends in the healthcare sector. For instance, technology is rapidly taking over the healthcare sector. Many healthcare facilities rely on technology to improve service delivery through accurate recording, keeping on the patient details, making precise diagnoses, and tracking the patients’ progress (Schober, 2018). Hospitals are relying on technology to reduce the rate of hospital admissions by making it possible for physicians to rack the recovery process of the patient while at home.

Change management is essential in addressing the problems being experienced in healthcare. Some of the change management strategies that can be implemented in this sector include proper planning to ensure that all the anticipated changes are accommodated in the system and the potential concerns are effectively addressed (Hee et al., 2019). Secondly, the leaders must be transparent in initiating changes. Transparency creates a conducive atmosphere for the employees to understand why the changes are being made and reduce the possibility of change resistance. The third strategy for management is through training the healthcare practitioners to enable them to develop the necessary skills to manage the new changes.

The emerging healthcare trends are increasing the demand for the services of advanced nursing practitioners. This is because this specialty plays a significant role in developing effective solutions affecting the healthcare sector. Therefore, professionals in advanced nursing practice must possess the following leadership qualities to offer practical solutions. Firstly, practicing nurses should have good communication skills (Kaldan et al., 2019). Communication is a vital element in obtaining the necessary information for making effective decisions. Good communication skills enhance a friendly relationship between the patients and the medical practitioners, improving the quality of the services being delivered. Through effective communication, healthcare leaders can understand the various challenges that junior employees are experiencing and the necessary recommendations that can be implemented to address such challenges.

Secondly, practicing nurses should have mentorship skills. Mentoring the incoming nurses is one of the essential practices in the nursing sector to help the newly recruited nurses adapt and effectively settle into their new profession (Kaldan et al., 2019). Thirdly, there is a need for advanced nurses to possess emotional intelligence skills to enable them to facilitate interpersonal relationships by showing empathy and understanding in their line of duty. Fourthly, nursing practitioners need to possess critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is necessary for solving the emerging problems facing the healthcare sector. Lastly, advanced nurses must have teamwork skills. Teamwork is essential in collaborating with other stakeholders to address the healthcare sector’s issues and improve service delivery.

I possess various leadership skills essential to succeeding as a competent advanced nursing practitioner. These qualities include good communication skills, dedication to excellence, professionalism, good time management, and integrity. However, I lack some skills, and m working on acquiring them. Some of these qualities include physical endurance, empathy, and the ability to multitask.

My plan to develop more leadership qualities in the advanced nursing practice includes enrolling in mentorship programs. Through mentorship, I will be able to learn vital skills from expected nurses on how to navigate my profession. Additionally, I plan to be open-minded and consult my colleagues on the various issues that I lack experience with. This will help me familiarize myself with new ideas and develop my abilities to handle different situations. Lastly, I will motivate others and inspire them to face their challenges. This will give me the confidence and improve my self-esteem necessary for a leader.

In conclusion, advanced nursing practice plays a key role in healthcare addressing the sector’s problems. Advanced nursing practitioners can effectively create solutions for the rapidly evolving healthcare sector through effective leadership qualities. Some of the leadership qualities necessary to manage change in healthcare include good communication skills and empathy. Several strategies for change management can be applied to drive change in nursing and healthcare. Some of them include effective planning and transparency.
