Diversity in public organizations refers to the representation of various groups of persons inside government agencies and other publicly supported institutions, such as those based on color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and ability. However, more attention should be paid to public organizations, leading companies to make decisions based on contradictory data on the relationship between diversity and quality and financial outcomes. In this sense, Gomez & Brent (2019) studied diversity in public organizations and its impact on performance. Diverse teams are better equipped to solve challenges and make more informed decisions, and businesses with more varied leadership are more likely to be financially successful.
The body of knowledge about the impacts of expanding workplace diversity has risen significantly. Thus, the primary goal of the study was to investigate the link between diversity, performance, and financial performance. (Gomez & Brent, 2019). When a diverse range of ideas and experiences are represented in an organization, it is more likely that all aspects of an issue will be explored and the best solution will be discovered. Moreover, diversity increases financial performance, as well as creativity and communication abilities (Gomez & Brent, 2019). The return on diversity investments may be maximized when guided by available facts. Gomez & Brent (2019) used meta-analyses of studies on diversity in public medical organizations published since 1999 as methods of the research. As a result, the research found that patients fared better when treatment was delivered by more diverse teams (Gomez & Brent, 2019). In other words, a diversity-friendly atmosphere was frequently cited as a key to preventing change-related friction.
In conclusion, diversity in public organizations is essential for effective decision-making, representation, and financial performance. Thus, it was found that diversity is related to improved financial success and superior patient care quality. It gives diverse viewpoints and ideas, which can lead to more innovative and effective issue solutions. It was also pointed out that diversity in public organizations may contribute to higher production, better decision-making, and adaptability to change.
