On the one hand, education in Florida is distinguished by the quality and variety of programs. In this state, students can choose from numerous universities, colleges, and schools with high teaching standards. In addition, the state’s climate makes education quite comfortable for both teachers and students. This attracts people from other states and countries to Florida to get any level of education. However, there are some controversial points in Florida’s educational policy.
Indeed, on the other hand, there are some policy issues in Florida. At the moment, the key aspects are related to the pandemic, online education, and quarantine. Some schools are already implementing full-time education, while others are not ready to accept students in person. Undoubtedly, this can still be dangerous for all stakeholders, but the state does not have a definite policy in this regard. Nevertheless, online education also comes with some challenges. It is difficult for teachers to maintain the required level of quality of distance learning. Unfortunately, creating policies and rules in this regard is also not easy because this type of interaction between teachers and students is new to the world.
Another crucial aspect is the mental health of students, which is not always given due attention. This recently led to the suicide of a student in a Florida school (Solochek, 2021). Therefore, it is essential to teach adolescents to cope with life’s difficulties and identify problems early. There is also a lack of regulation in the area of racial discrimination. As a consequence, sometimes even teachers treat children of certain races negatively. Undoubtedly, this situation should be ruled out at the political level.
