Introduction
Education as many can define it, is a creative process, which involves the development of various latent capacities in human nature and how these latent expressions can be coordinated for progress and enrichment of communities. Education helps to equip children morally, religiously and materially with necessary knowledge to participate in most of activities, which can make this child have a good life in the future.
Education is quite important to everyone because it helps us in discovery of our talents. Education is one of the most important issues to me, because education is helps me to develop as a personality and as a character. It is through education that I am in a position to realize the truth and make my own decisions though the knowledge I have. It is through this creative process that I am in a position to achieve the essential harmony between reason and faith since it encourages the reality and trains my mind to recognize the truth. Education is also an instrument for change. There is a great change from the time I had no education with this time.
Now I have enough of knowledge to make things change. It is through this education that I am in a position to develop my own business which has made my life change completely. Good education makes me make strategic decisions as far as my business is concerned hence leading to the growth of this business. It is through the knowledge I have I can make important policies which affect the organization of this business hence my success in life. (Ambach, 2000).
Education makes people socialize well with others. The structural imperative in our society is that children in this society have to constantly socialize with each other. These children are supposed to interact with each other and the best place for this process is in schools. Schools are seen as socializing agents for children. Since my society requires for children to interact and socialize, I find that education is an important issue, since it strengthens our norms and value in the society.
If this socialization process was not there, then our society would not be able to function well. Due to the increasingly complex nature of work most of the societies have, children have to be educated on higher levels of standards of technical competence. You find that today with the modern technology, it requires a bit of education so that one can be in a position to function well in the society. If you are not educated, then there is no place for you in the modern world. Most of the activities which are done today require technical capacities. Therefore, you find that education is seen as something very important since it gives knowledge and skills in order to compete effectively on the job market. (Ambach, 2000).
My strong support for education derives from various theories which explain the importance of education in different societies. The Marxist and the Functionalist theories can explain the role of education in most of the societies. The two theories analyze the role and the purpose of our education. It is through our education that societies are able to understand their central roles and values. It is through understanding of these values societies live in harmony with no conflicts. Education is power. It is through education people are able to perform various activities. They can develop through education and hence it is a challenge for many states to ensure that education is given the first priority. Education gives people a chance to develop mentally, economically, socially and politically. (Ambach, 2000).
Representatives
There are many state and city representatives of education in New York. It is through these representatives that education has been valued in this country so much. Bronx Borough president is the most prominent person since he is seen to lobby for interests of those people who are living in that borough. He makes sure that education is given to every student, especially needy students. Most of the students from poverty communities have been neglected, and he ensures that most of these students are getting free education. It is against the law for these children not to go to school. The Bronx county president sees education as the only key to success in ones life.
The Bronx county president gives education the first priority. He also ensures that there are many advanced schools and institutes of education that offer the necessary knowledge for these students. As a result, the county has been in a position to economically develop since there are so many enlightened individuals who work for the growth of our county. This president has played a great role in ensuring that education has been given the first priority and also the needy students have been in a position to get free education through his initiative of free education for the needy students.
As a result, people have realized their talents which lie in education hence succeeding in life. The president always says that people have to commit themselves in providing quality education to all the children who have attained the age of going to school. The president also quotes that “the most economic empowerment tool, the best path to community development and also the best social program is found in good education”. (Cross, 2004).
Senator Lavalle is the representative of higher education in New York. It is through this representative that education has been treasured so much by many in our country. He ensures that students who qualify for higher education are in a position to broaden their education in various institutes of higher education. He also ensures that there are enough institutes of higher education in order to cater for the needs of these students who would wish to strengthen their education. The needy students are also provided with loans to ensure that they can fund their education and no one can miss this simply because one lacked the necessary funds.
Yvette D. Clarke is a congresswoman, who represents New York in the House of representatives. She is a role model in education since she supports education so much. She ensures that education is being received by everyone despite their family backgrounds. (Cross, 2004).
My reaction to these representatives is that they have taken a great role in ensuring that education is given to everyone in need of it. They have tried to ensure that all the needed facilities have been given to these students by constructing more universities to ensure that students are in a position to further their education. These representatives have also helped in ensuring that the needy students have not been left out. They ensure that they have given support to the needy students. As a result, education is so much treasured in the New York. (Cross, 2004).
Conclusion
Education is one of the most valued areas in most of the communities. Many countries have invested so much in education and a good example is in New York. It ensures that all people are in a position to access those facilities for education. As a result, this country has been in a position to grow.
