There are a number of ways to effectively utilize one’s online platform, including promotional materials, interactive activities, and direct communication with the audience (McLachlan, 2020). A company has the biggest chance of ensuring client retention if they are able to engage their audience with their work, creating a two-way channel for people to voice their support, criticism, and any other type of feedback (What is social media engagement? 2021).

Depending on the specific social platform, the approach taken may differ, as the particular demographic composition and the people’s preferred type of content can differ greatly. For example, the audience on Facebook is generally older and mostly consists of mothers, meaning that any interactive campaign should take their potential audience’s interests and attitudes into account. Such platforms as Twitter and Instagram, on the other hand, usually house more younger people and those that are more familiar with corporate social media management. Creating a more personal sense of connection in these audiences can prove to be more beneficial than just simply adhering to one universal style on all platforms.

Marketing experts need to recognize and seize the opportunity for growth and development present in utilizing social media in an effective manner. The new interactive platforms such as social media can give rise to a huge number of opportunities, including a way to collect feedback and retain a constant interest in one’s brand. By investing in this side of the business sphere, companies are making a lasting investment into their own future growth.
