Introduction
As a junior officer in the human resource department in a blue-chip company, I have been faced with the problem of dealing with the improvement of employees’ morale. There has been an increase in chaos and misunderstanding at the workplace between the employees and the human resource management team. This has affected the level of production negatively. At the same time, it has resulted in an increased cost of production.
A lot of time is wasted solving emerging problems and there is the need therefore to boost the morale of the employees as firing them is not an option. Employees are in this department have a lot of experience, having worked with the company for more than 5 years. The company has also invested a lot in these employees, in the form of education and training programs.
Statement of the Problem
There is a need to identify an immediate solution to solve the dilemma that the company faces, in a bid to boost the employees’ morale.
Research Method and Sources of Information
The investigation of the problem will use both primary and secondary data and information. The secondary data and information will be derived from books, journals, employees’ worksheets, scorecards, performance indexes of the employees, and any other information that has been used to solve the dilemma in other organizations.
It is also proposed that different case studies be undertaken for comparison purposes to get information on how they have been able to solve the same problem. The managers of the different companies will be interviewed and issued with questionnaires formulated and mailed to the different managers respectively. Employees in the company will also be involved in the study to get their views and expectations from the company.
Assumptions made are that the companies that would be studied will give the appropriate solutions used in solving the same problem facing the company.
Data Findings and Analysis
After collection of the relevant data and information, the data will be presented in the form of charts, tables, and graphs. In this case, qualitative and qualitative methods will be applied for the analysis. For purposes of analyzing the data findings, SPSS will be used. Correlation analysis will be conducted to determine any relevance that exists between the findings and the problem at hand. Thereafter, the significance and relevance of the study shall be determined after a cost-benefit analysis of the solutions has been conducted to come up with the most significant solutions. Before handing over the solutions, all the members of the human resource department will be involved in a brainstorming session to get the final views on the solutions.
Presentation of Conclusions and Recommendations
The conclusions will be based on research findings and analysis. It will present the key points from the findings that form the solutions. Major weaknesses and strengths found and which are related to the problem analysis will be highlighted. All the opportunities for improvement and solving the dilemma will also be presented.
Recommendations will be based on the research conclusions where viable solutions will be given to solve the problem in the organization. This will form the ultimate framework for the action implementation plan on the proposed solutions.
