Introduction

Fire in the Blood is a documentary movie that is focused on the urgent issue that needs to be solved, namely the access of people from the countries of the third world to drugs. People across the globe suffer from HIV and AIDS. However, it is worth highlighting that the residents of developed countries can happily live with HIV that will never transform into AIDS. Due to medications and access to treatment, people can survive and overcome this disease. The situation is different in Africa and Asia.

Main body

The majority of people with HIV have no chance to get life-saving medications and it results in the death of millions of people. The United States of America and the European Union control the situation in the countries of the third world and are able to influence it. According to recent findings, developing counties are more vulnerable and the percentage of people with HIV and AIDS is bigger than in the developed ones. During the blockade, over ten million people died because of misunderstandings between the countries. These people could be provided with the drugs and saved. It can be considered as a human crisis. The current system of intellectual property rights is considered to be highly ineffective in modern and digital society. Intellectual property rights need to be protected as knowledge is the most powerful tool in the modern world. However, it also increases the value of the drugs, and they become more expensive. A balance between production and distribution should be found. People from the third world would not be able to purchase the drugs, and thus, it will result in millions of deaths. Companies should make life-saving drugs more affordable and accessible.

Colleagues’ Postings

The post of my college is focused on examining the need for changes in the sphere of drug delivery. The documentary movie Fire in the Blood makes an accent on the significance of the intellectual property rights reform. As a matter of fact, HIV and AIDS are considered to be the worst epidemic of modern times. People from third world countries are unable to get drugs because they have no access to them. Moreover, it costs too much, and they simply cannot afford it. This situation consequently leads to the death of millions of people in Africa and Asia. The United States, as well as the European Union, can influence the situation and provide people with life-saving drugs. However, the intellectual property laws make the price for the medication too high. It is understandable that companies want to make money, and it is their business. However, is it ethical to leave people alone in their struggle with the disease? My college is sure that the companies and the government as well should reform the system and make drugs more accessible.

Conclusion

The global decisions in the field of medicine can change the situation and help millions of people with HIV and AIDS. Modern society should not forget that the life of a human being is of the biggest value, and thus, should be protected. The medicine should be accessible and affordable for every human being in every country across the globe. Modern society should focus its attention on the improvement of the situation of the environment and save lives of people.
