The goals and inspirations are driven by my underlying values –the reason I desire to attain some things in the nursing field. The values attained in nursing will inform my words, thoughts, and actions and they will help me to develop, grow, create, and envision the future I want to experience. There is a relationship between success in graduate study and qualities such as a deep interest in my nursing field, ambition, persistence, independence, and self-discipline. The essay describes any such achievements or experiences that would be pertinent to my goals for graduate study.
Self-discipline is needed in the nursing field as a graduate to accomplish optimal health when breaking a habit, for example, smoking or rebalancing health problems contributed to by excess. Having it will enable me to stay focused on my goals in graduate study. Further, it supports me to remain in control of myself and my response to any circumstance (Manning, 2020). Self-discipline in the nursing field will provide me with the strength to remain professional with my clients, even when one is ready to give up in life (Butts, 2017). It assists me in sticking with and accomplishing tough goals that I set for myself. Therefore, self-discipline enables me to keep going through to great success despite what others could see as insurmountable odds in nursing practice.
Further, persistence is significant in the nursing field; thus, as a graduate study, there is a need to have this quality. I have noted that perseverance may ward off giving up and self-doubt by assisting me in remembering my ultimate goal. This provides me the strength and decide to push past any challenges and concentrate on what matters most in graduate study (Manning, 2020). Having ambition and being big-hearted, I have the ability to succeed regardless of how the circumstance looks like.
In summing up, self-discipline, ambition, persistence, and independence have helped me build confidence within myself and take a stand towards accomplishing my goals regardless of how difficult the circumstances might be in my life. It includes taking a stand for what I trust in, even in situations in which not everybody else can go along with my beliefs. The faith I have in myself has assisted me in determining what I need to do without a doubt.
