Summary
Children from the Hill Tribe, an ethnic minority in Thailand, face numerous social and health disparities. Hill tribe children, particularly those under the age of five, have social and health impairments, according to previous investigations, but the root causes are not well understood (Moonpanane et al., 2022). Therefore, the authors assessed it as crucial to examine how children from hill tribes use healthcare since doing so might offer some insight (Moonpanane et al., 2022). The study’s participants discussed their encounters with obtaining healthcare in underprivileged communities (Moonpanane et al., 2022). The provision of healthcare services, teaching, and information suited to the traditions and beliefs common among the hill tribal population requires transformation of the healthcare system and its environs.
Analysis
Concerning the criteria, it is reasonable to underline the level of evidence and author’s authority. Normative sampling methods were used to select participants for the qualitative research focusing on the standards (Moonpanane et al., 2022). To learn more about the perspectives of parents, community activists, and healthcare professionals when dealing with children under the age of five, in-depth surveys and focus groups were used (Moonpanane et al., 2022). Themes were identified through the coding procedure of the interview transcripts.
Critique
Referring to a specific opinion and two separate issues, it is possible to emphasize limited sample sizes and particular features of the respondents and their educational level. Since this study exclusively included a small sample from selected regions of hill tribal settlements, its conclusions should be evaluated with proper consideration (Moonpanane et al., 2022). Additionally, the majority of the families who participated in this survey were elementary and secondary school graduates, which does not accurately reflect the educational attainment of the total population of hill tribes.
