Abstract
Horse is an animal that is domesticated by the human beings and has to be trained and feed just like the other animals that are domestic like cattle. Horses are mistreated by the human beings something that is not good and should be taken as a law to protect the horses from this mistreatment that they undergo. The horses are able to form the relationship with the human beings as compared to other animals that are not ready to work as expected by the human race. This paper will discuss how human beings treat horses.
Introduction
Treatment of the horses should be observed and followed with a lot of concern this is due to the fact that most of the people do not care about the feeding of these horses and therefore they end up lacking nutrients that are important for them to be able to have energy for carrying out their activities. Most of the things that can be given to the horses include: the pitted dates, the raisins and the sugar cubes and other important food nutrients that are required by these animals for the generation of energy for their movement. Due to the bad practices that people have on the horses then there has been the need for the rules like the American horse slaughter prevention act where by the act has got a high prevention of the mistreatments that are done to the horses in terms of slaughtering and beating them. This is because horses are seen to work as the best instrument that could be used by the disabled people and can be used in sport and recreational activities and also to carry burdens therefore with the mistreatment of the horse it means that the actions that it could do can no longer be done rightly and this has led to more problems in the country. This act therefore is targeting at the closure of many of the slaughterhouses so that the horses can be freed from the slaughter that is undertaken by the human beings. (Mike, 1990)
How We Act
There is a society for the animal protective legislation that is the starter of the doing away of this horse slaughter and therefore the horses has been secure and can provide the services that are required to the human race. Horse training is the practices that people undertake so that they can teach the horses. The horses can be trained for warfare, for farm work, for sport and the transport. In the recent time the horse training is done for recreational and sporting activities in many countries. This is because they can do all the activities that are taught by the human beings and therefore this can lead to the attainment of the work that is set for them to do. In the teaching of these horses on how to go about the activities that are set before it then one should know that there is need for safety this is because they have high power than the human beings and therefore they should be trained not to harm the human beings but to obey what they are taught to do. (Hill, 1990)
The horses have got different thinking than that of human beings and therefore one should know how to use the psychology of the horses so that it can be able to understand and undertake what it is expected by the person. The horse have strong social herd and if it is well trained then it can lead to the follow of the instructions and respect of the human leader. The horses should be taught to relate well with the humans and this will mean that they should not react by the instinct alone but should know and determine when the fear is required as a response rather than the defense mechanism. The training of a younger horses will learn more easily than the older ones and therefore the trainers should have the target on ensuring that the young horses are trained at the right time before they become old this is due to the fact that at this old age then it will be hard for them to learn and this will lead to the mistreatment been made on the horse. With these guidelines then it becomes possible for the trainer to know how to go about the training not to lead to effects later after the end of the training.
In the understanding of the horse behavior then there is the need for one to know that this animal like the other animals has well developed fight or fight instinct and therefore if there is a threat then it is able to flee and also have the instinct of defending itself in cases a problem comes in. these animals like to live in groups and therefore they have a social behavior that is different from other animals. In this herd there is the dominance hierarchy that has a purpose of determining which herd member will direct the behavior of others, eat and drink first and therefore they have the behavior pattern that has interrelations like that of the humans. The horse with a respect to the human as a herd member been higher in the social order will behave in an appropriate manner towards all the humans than the horse that has been allowed to engage in the dominant behavior over the humans. The horses has got separate groups in between the herd and they have different way on how they react and therefore this animal can be seen to be completely different in behavior compared to other races of animals. Conclusion
The horses are very important animals to the human race and therefore the need for the rights to be undertaken so that they can be able to come up with the right services that are required. This has to be done in terms of feeding and ensuring that they are provided with shelter the same as the other animals so that they can be able to give the services that are applicable to the human race. The law should be strong in working for the people who are against the laws that are set for the protection of the horses. The laws should ensure that a great fine is imposed on those who go against the set conditions.
