Introduction
Toys are essential for children’s development and socialization during childhood. They not only provide children with simple pleasure but can also be agents of socialization. While playing with toys, children learn interactive behavior and explore the world around them (Tonetto et al., 2020). This essay explores what toys can be considered socialization agents and how I used them to understand relationships or prepare for new ones.
Toys as Agents of Socialization
Soft toys significantly help with socialization, as they are the beginning of understanding relationships and interacting with other people. Simple doll playsets help to understand the relationship between people and objects in the world. In addition, miniature action games serve as representations of the world of different characters and scenarios (Tonetto et al., 2020). Board games significantly influence children, as they help them learn the principles of building relationships and ways of honest interaction.
There were many favorite toys from my childhood that influenced socialization and skill acquisition. One of them was dolls because I enjoyed playing with them, making names and stories for them. In such a game, understanding occurs in the relationship between people and their behavior toward each other.
In addition, cars allowed me to discover how cars move and interact with each other. Building blocks and houses with roads show the juxtaposition between how a car moves and how a city works. Games help people understand how to build relationships. Playing cards and other board games with my parents and friends helps me understand tolerance and friendliness.
Conclusion
In general, all of the above toys can be considered agents of socialization because they help children develop critical thinking and creativity. Properly selected toys will be the best way for children to spend time with benefits and prepare them for life in society. Children’s entertainment helps them understand how the world is connected and learn how to manage relationships and interact properly with other people.
