Plan to Achieve Nursing Certification
Obtaining professional certification signifies seriousness and dedication to one’s area. It recognizes nursing education as a distinct subfield of the nursing profession and provides a framework for instructors to showcase their mastery of the subject area (National League for Nursing, n.d.).
The greatest standards of success are being reached, and this will be communicated to the academic and medical groups, individual students, and colleagues. In the nursing profession, having a nursing educator certificate positions one as an authority figure and an example to others. I hope to combine my love of education with my experience as a nurse to find a rewarding position where I can shape future nurses’ careers. Hence, I plan to obtain the Certified Nurse Educator credential (CNE).
The ANCC recommends that certification be renewed every five years to demonstrate ongoing proficiency in one’s certification specialization and growth in one’s area of expertise (ANCC, n.d). In order to keep my credentials current, I plan to engage in professional development activities like publishing, continuing education, and logging hours of practice to demonstrate my ongoing commitment to improving my knowledge and skills in this field.
Impact of Certification on Nurses, Patients, and Organizations
The growth of the nursing workforce in a wide range of healthcare environments is influenced by nurse educators who blend clinical knowledge, proof, and a love for education. Earning this credential would improve teaching conditions and position one to steer educational efforts that shape nursing’s bright future.
Nursing educators must be able to respond quickly and effectively to any changes that need to be made to the learning environment to ensure the safety of the students, patients, and themselves (Al-Rawajfah et al., 2022). Obtaining this credential would allow me to handle critical shifts and problems in the clinical practice and academic setting. Those who have earned CNE certification will be better equipped to use the latest research in education, embark on a lifelong path of study in the classroom, and serve as a catalyst for change in the healthcare field.
