Statement of the Problem
Improper management might occur in a specific organization without knowing. Poor managerial practices will affect the performance of different employees. Improper management occurs when a leader fails to support the needs of his workers (Reilly, Minnick, & Baack, 2011). This problem continues to affect many organizations today. However, it remains impossible for different “leaders to understand when the management process is poor” (Dubrovski, 2012, p. 348). The occurrence of poor management makes it impossible for many firms to realize their potentials. Some signs can be used to analyze the nature of management in an organization.
The occurrence of certain symptoms dictates the presence of improper organizational management. The first sign of poor management is the increased level of absenteeism. Many workers quit their jobs due to poor leadership. Some employees leave their jobs due to a lack of good working conditions. A “chaotic working environment results from ineffective management” (Dubrovski, 2012, p. 348). The performance of the targeted firm will be affected negatively. Improper management will discourage more customers from purchasing the firm’s products. This “problem is closely associated with poor management” (Dubrovski, 2012, p. 348). Some problems such as low morale arise from ineffective leadership practices.
As mentioned earlier, this problem affects different stakeholders such as employees and customers. The targeted customers will identify new firms that can deliver quality services. The workers will become unhappy with their working conditions. Firms with ineffective leadership strategies cannot address the needs of their surrounding communities (Reilly et al., 2011). The level of turnover will increase significantly and eventually affect the profitability of the targeted firm.
This study will use a powerful plan to identify the issues associated with ineffective management. A comprehensive plan will be used to gather quality information. The information will be used to present powerful discussions that can transform many organizations. A proper background will be presented to understand the effects of poor leadership on organizational effectiveness.
Different “forms of leadership are critical towards producing positive organizational performance” (Reilly et al., 2011, p. 37). The study will highlight some of the unique symptoms associated with ineffective management. The Applied Research Project seeks to analyze improper management practices that can result in poor morale and turnaround.
