An effective information system keeps the students as well as the management perfect and updated. It can serve almost all the instructional needs of the education effectively. There is a drastic development in every realm especially in the information technology. These sophisticated changes in the field have an impact on the educational system as a whole. Different applications have been introduced to cope with the existing situation.

The specialty of the modern world is that the information system plays a crucial role in every aspect of life especially in education. Grant programs related to information systems and e-learning have been introduced at the state level to meet the surging educational requirements of the state in the near future. The paper is dedicated to the analysis of possible positive and negative impacts of curriculum sharing and student e-learning.

Student e-learning and curriculum sharing have become a wider acknowledged method for learning in the modern world. Students find it quite convenient to have e-learning as it opens new vistas. “E-learning offers exciting opportunities to engage today’s students and ultimately improve their learning. In addition, the Internet makes it possible to provide students with courses and resources that might not otherwise be available”. (Educational Technology, David P. Driscoll Commissioner of Education) Today e-learning opens a revolution in the field of education. Curriculum sharing and e-learning offer an effective and flexible learning with out much constrain. The very approach to learning has undergone sea changes over the period. E-learning allows students to enhance their knowledge and experience in learning.

The incessant interaction that the students can have under the system of e-learning makes him or her perfect in their communicative abilities and communication. E-learning provides a quality based education to students and they can have access to many panoramas of life and they get enriched with enthusiasm and vigor. Though the information system, e-learning at first did not get the expected welcome later it got a warm reception. Many drawbacks of the system in its infancy had been removed in the long run using diverse tools. “E-learning has grown from its infancy of merely being a way to access online learning text material into a mature, dynamic, and personalized learning experience provided through powerful and blended tools”. (Educational Technology, David P. Driscoll Commissioner of Education) The next generation of e-learning would be more complex and would be more sophisticated.

In a well-designed e-learning atmosphere students will be able to elicit maximum and will benefit optimal out of it and thereby student’s outcome would be matchless.

There is always controversy regarding the reliability of the e-learning process. The materials which are available as information can not at times be taken for granted. There are a number of devices to find information from the internet but these pieces of information can not fully rely. The information given on the internet lacks communication ability. Often they are vague and ambiguous and search results will not always be catering to our requirements. “A Google search for “lesson plans” yields nearly 19 million hits. But most lesson plan sites lack the community features that have become standard on other sites, such as user ratings, topical tags, social networking, and wiki pages that can be edited and improved by other users”. (TeachForward.org: Online Curriculum-Sharing, Rob Lucas).

Today e-learning and curriculum sharing get widely acknowledged. It has become an essential part of our modern life. It enables the users to have prompt access to information and knowledge. Even though e-learning and curriculum sharing has become a part and parcel of modern life the fact that it has got both positive and negative impacts can not be denied. In the viewpoint of some people e-learning and curriculum sharing can have only positive impact and in the view of some people they will have an only adverse effect. But actually the truth is a mixture of the two. These opinions can neither be fully accepted nor can be fully rejected. On the basis of a thorough analysis of the material it can be well asserted that e-learning and curriculum sharing can have both positive and negative impacts.

The e-learning and curriculum sharing have a few adverse impacts. These adverse impacts are the result of negligence and injudicious actions on the part of the users. If the user is prudent enough to use the information system for effective and desired results he or she can be safe from being imprudent in using the information system. Information revolution can be considered as a positive impact of e-learning. Students get access to vast areas of knowledge.

The door of information is kept wide open in front of the students when they depend on e-learning for their studies pursuits. The Impact of e-learning on teachers is something to be considered as it has got considerable relevance. With the advent of e-learning, teachers have become more efficient in their teaching and presentation. They are now more effective in their attempt to convey ideas and information to students. They can pass information on to students in a better manner with the aid of e-learning. Students get convinced all points very easily

that the lecturer wants to convey to them. Teachers believe that e-learning is time-saving and more beneficial to students. “A smaller proportion (around two-thirds) felt that they were more effective in presenting information in front of the class and in making course materials available to learners due to e-learning use, with around a half believing they were more effective at developing learners’ understanding.

However, just over a quarter felt they were more effective at tracking learners’ progress, and only one third felt that e-learning had assisted them to save time”. (Impact of e-learning in further education – survey of scale and breadth Sarah Golden, Tami McCrone, Matthew Walker and Peter Rudd)

The impact of e-learning on learners is also worth considering. By the use of e-learning students have become more efficient in their studies. The dependence on e-learning has made the students more productive and resourceful. “The majority felt that e-learning had helped learners become more effective at creating visual presentations, presenting written work and researching topics. Seven out of ten thought e-learning had helped make learners more effective at reinforcing their knowledge, half felt that learners engaged more effectively with the subject in the classroom and nearly half felt that learner motivation had increased because of e-learning use”. (Impact of e-learning in further education – survey of scale and breadth Sarah Golden, Tami McCrone, Matthew Walker and Peter Rudd)

In the use of e-learning there is no such direct relationship between the teachers and students. Both are not interdependent in this case. They stand out as different entities having no much connection in the learning and teaching process. The e-learning has caused tremendous changes in the attitude of both teachers and students.
