To live and work in adherence to biblical principles proclaimed in the scripture, one should be aware that all actions have consequences, and these consequences affect not only oneself but other people, too. To act justly in the workplace means the worker should try and follow, first of all, the ten commandments: for example, they shall not deceive others, be it their colleagues or clients. Business and religion always were in a conflicting relationship, as the principles of managing and developing a business can often be somewhat immoral and harmful towards people: both employees and customers. Thus, to negate the potential offense, one must strive to act justly towards others by providing earnest assistance to coworkers and clients, and refraining from any deceit or lies in favor of promoting services. Subsequently, to show mercy, one should behave with kindness and compassion in the workplace, offer help to people in need, and adhere to the moral values of Christianity. Biblical principles might not always be applicable to the processes of business management but they often offer a more humane, compassionate perspective on specific issues, which makes them important to be considered.
To walk humbly with God means that one should let Jesus Christ teach them the truth and accept His ways of living. Only through placing one’s faith in Him and willing to act under His guide, can one find a way to living with God. When a person confesses their allegiance to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit makes His home in them (John 14:23; Eph. 3:17), and God communes with their every being (Rev. 21:3). Thus, by accepting Christian values and following them by heart, one can follow in Jesus’ footsteps and lead a merciful and just life even in a highly competitive and harsh work environment.
