How the intern’s performance benefited the organization
During the internship, which lasted six months, the intern became part of the team. The duties of the intern included drawing up employment contracts, checking personal data of the organisation’s employees, working with accounting documents, and handling archival files and folders.
The intern helped the company in preparing and maintaining a large volume of documentation related to personnel and their movement, and she also assisted in determining the procedure for the formation and maintenance of a database of company personnel. Having studied the methods of accounting for the movement of personnel, the intern helped refine the procedure for compiling standardised reporting. She also assisted in choosing the information technologies that can be used by the human resource (HR) department in their work.
Development in the student’s skills, knowledge, personal and/or professional performance
The intern mastered the theoretical aspects quickly and began to apply those using the recommended working methods, starting from the first weeks of her internship. The intern had to get acquainted with a large volume of organisational information; having spent a small amount of time on this, the intern was able to navigate all the documents and their contents quickly and easily. After having her job-specific training, the intern was able to apply her theoretical knowledge to practice.
The intern’s strengths
The intern proved to be an active participant in the workflow. She has the necessary technical skills, which she used in preparing and updating various documents. The intern has a good memory; she is diligent and accurate about detail. In practice, she was active and attentive, worked on all tasks systematically. In interpersonal relationships, the intern was polite, sociable, and easily adapted to working in a team. One of her main strengths is the desire to learn and improve her work. To achieve this goal, she not only studied the theoretical foundations of the profession but also turned to colleagues for advice and followed the recommendations of her mentor.
The intern’s areas of improvement
The main area in which the intern needs to improve is her interaction with other divisions of the company. In particular, the intern needs to master effective strategies for interacting with the organisation’s accounting. The human resource department interacts with the accounting team of the organisation to address issues related to compensation. For this reason, in order to effectively perform its functions, the HR department needs to interact with the accounting team closely. In addition, the legal department supplies the HR team with information about the latest changes in the current legislation and provides comprehensive legal support.
In order for this process to be established, the intern needs to understand how to build communication with the legal department, what issues are fundamental, and how to use the information received from colleagues.
