This means that he evaluates job applicants and advises the recruitment board about prospective workers. Secondly, his role involves evaluating the existing employees to make sure their academic qualifications are important in helping the company cope with market requirements.

Harib is also in charge of developing training programs that ensure employees learn new skills that are important in improving their performance. These incidences force most students to seek legal assistance, but Harib has always advised them against taking such actions. Therefore, the organization is forced to advise its workers to seek other learning institutions that have lenient regulations. In addition, some employees stop working for this company after attaining additional training. This has made the organization oblige workers to sign agreements that they will not leave the company after it has trained them unless something serious happens.

He believed that the Expo 2020 project is a blessing to this region because it has already attracted investors from different areas. In addition, he believed that job opportunities will increase and people from different parts of the world will have equal opportunities to get employed. Moreover, the UAE is strategically located between countries in developed and developing nations; therefore, it will be a transition point for travelers and this will boost the country’s economic performance. Lastly, he believed that people will understand how various systems work in the UAE and correct the misconceptions they had about this region.
He advised students planning to pursue this course to ensure that they develop an interest in understanding human relations. In addition, he claimed that they should be prepared for culture shocks and other issues that arise due to differences in background. He highlighted the need to have communication, interaction, and observation skills to ensure they do not make wrong judgments. Moreover, he recommended that people working in the human resource department should take other courses in law, communication, research, and project management to ensure they understand various issues that facilitate their performance.
Reflective Summary
Harib Alsheihi is qualified and suited to be the head of learning and development of this organization because he has the relevant training to manage various issues in this department. Anybody working in this department must have been trained on various issues that affect the performance of employees (Mathis 2010). It is necessary to explain that Harib has attained a good level of training for this job and that is why he performs his roles without problems. In addition, his experience in various sections under the human resource management department has exposed him to issues that affect the performance of employees. He has articulated his training with working experience to ensure he is equipped with adequate skills to perform his duties well. The UAE is diversifying its economic priorities and this means that Harib will have a greater impact on various organizations because of his skills (Nkomo, Fottler, and McAfee 2010). The need to restructure organizations and train employees will make this profession very marketable and that is why Harib boasts of Expo 2020. However, he must enroll in evening or weekend classes to study courses that will help him in the future.
The interview was very important because it brought to light some issues that were not clear to people living outside the UAE region. First, this region is open to people from all over the world, regardless of their religious affiliations. This means that anybody that has the desired qualifications is allowed to apply for jobs that are available in this region (Dorman 2011). In addition, the future of this region is very bright because investors have realized the need to diversify their economic activities. The Expo 2020 will open various investment opportunities, including expanding the existing learning institutions. Other viable investments include banking, agriculture, mining, construction, and tourism. Therefore, the human resource department of any organization in this region will have a lot of work to do in the future.
Harib plays limited roles as opposed to what human resource personnel should do according to class discussions. His roles are few because of the nature of this organization and this region that has traditionally been known to benefit from oil exports. However, it is necessary to explain that Harib may soon become a busy man when this region starts receiving investors from other regions. The UAE is developing strategies that will ensure it stops bragging about its rich oil deposits and starts investing in other viable economic activities (Selden 2008). It is necessary to explain that this will be accompanied by changes in the human resource department to ensure this region has a robust task force. This will lead to the formation of workers and trade unions to protect the interests of their members.
