Jazz is a traditional and stylish genre of music, usually associated with America. It was created and modified by musicians to be performed in night clubs and balls in the early 20th century. Jazz remains one of the most important and representative genres in the world of music. Unfortunately, over time jazz has lost some of its popularity, but I am convinced that we should bring jazz back and give young people the opportunity to appreciate all the benefits of jazz.
Jazz is truly a unique genre of music that can only be played and understood with proper use of instruments and intonations. This genre of music has a rich history that was developed by musicians in the early 20th century. Jazz has a very emotional and interesting combination of melodies and rhythms. It continues to be popular among musicians and audiences in America and beyond. Jazz is an incredibly diverse and exciting style of music. It is full of improvisation, unexpected turns, and a wide range of musical expression. Jazz can be upbeat, energetic, and engaging (Giola 81). It is not boring at all – it is a sophisticated, dynamic and entertaining style of music that can be enjoyed by all kinds of listeners.
Jazz offers many benefits for young people. First of all, jazz improves mental abilities as playing jazz requires analyzing rhythmic and melodic links and using instruments and intonations. Thus, playing jazz can help to develop creativity, logic, and analytical skills. Jazz also helps to build motivation and participate in group events. Jazz also has a rich ethnic root as you can hear many different influences, including African, European, and American traditions (Giola 37). Jazz is a great way for young people to understand the history and culture of America. It is also a perfect way to express emotions and ideas.
In conclusion, I want to say that Jazz is an important and beneficial genre of music that needs to be revived in our days. Jazz offers many benefits to young people, including the development of mental abilities and enabling them to understand American history and culture. Therefore, we should bring jazz back to give young people the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of jazz.
