Introduction
The current event that has taken place is the need for kosovo to be independent after a long time of need. Kosovo has a declaration in this year to be independent. This been an important act in that it is a declaration that was adopted in 17 Feb., this year that declared kosovo to be independent from Serbia. This proclamation has not been seated in the United Nations because of Russia that blocks any application for UN membership. Kosovo was conquered by the Ottoman Empire due to the defeat of Serbia in the year 1389 and from that time it has had mixed populations of people from different areas such as the Muslims who lived along side the Christian formal independence.

Due to wars in the nation the Serbs have become the minority group in the country as people had been losing their lives, as the tension had been great. In 1945, kosovo was made an autonomous province of Serbia rather than a republic in its own right. From the year 1974 to 1989 the kosovo has enjoyed rights of self-government and has a high population. Kosovo has been in need of wanting to become a nation of its own since the year 1990 but this failed due to the wars that existed in that time and they were not allowed to become members at that time but in this year it has made a new declaration requiring to be given the chance of becoming a nation so that the people can enjoy their freedom like any other person.
Diplomats have had meeting to discuss the future of the kosovo the main discussion is between two groups that is the troika, as the Russian, European and American envoys who are to talk about the view of kosovo been independent and it has been seen that over 90% of the meeting people have agreed on the independence of this nation. The legislators had approved the declaration and announced that the nation has been independent, sovereign and democratic.
This followed after the meetings that had been held by different diplomats and have a conclusion that this nation has the right of been a nation that is independent. The ambassadors from Europe and the U.S released a joint statement on behalf of the members of states that showed that they supported the right of kosovo been an independent nation.
The Serbian nationalists have a negative view about kosovo’s independence and they claim that they will no longer recognize it as an independent nation this is due to the fact that this nation will create a showdown with Serbia they claim that this independence will lead to separation groups developing in the whole world. Been that this kosovo has been part of Serbia and that they have not agreed to the fact that it has become independent but the kosovo government has agreed to support Serbia rights so that they can have their interests been known by all in the nation and the world at large.
After the announcement of kosovo independence there has been tension with the Serbs minority and this has led to the government seen the need to have an office that will cater for the needs of these Serbs. This has been done by the peacekeepers that require the nations to have security and they have increased patrols that will have to work out this problem of insecurity. Conclusion
Kosovo has been seeking to have independence but due to the resistances that have been available it has been hard but with all this resistance then they have been able to have their independent and this has been through a declaration that has been made this year and the announcement of the nation independence has been made.
