Your Honour,
I am writing to you on behalf of the entire family to review the Raymond Owens case. He is a drug addict, and therefore we wholeheartedly ask that he be given compulsory treatment in a clinic. The importance of this case is that if treatment is not prescribed, irreversible psychological consequences can be developed. This case is vital, as drug use continues almost all of his life. The drug use started as a child, and his parents only found out about it when he was 23. Later, Raymond began to try various types of drugs and became addicted to alcohol. When he joined the army, he could not stay there for long because he was discharged due to drug use. A year after Raymond developed depression, which led to even more intense drug use and minor law violations, which led to his imprisonment for six months. Many years later, he met a girl with whom he had a daughter. This had a positive effect on his attitude to life and drugs. He gave up bad habits, underwent a course of treatment, was ready for the birth of his daughter, and was looking forward to this event. The situation worsened again when the girl’s mother gave her up for adoption without Raymond’s knowledge. This has had a very negative impact on for him because he was madly waiting for the birth of a child and wanted to raise her and educate her. He realized that he would no longer have a daughter, that he would not be her father, would not be able to hold her hands and support her. Because of the psychological shock, he returned to his terrible addictions consuming drugs.
I am writing to you with a sincere request: please assign Raymond a course of compulsory treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, as well as a course of psychological recovery. These courses are really necessary for him, because without them he will simply die. Outside of the state where he lives, there is a clinic with highly qualified doctors and medical care. He will be surrounded by professional medical staff who will monitor him, provide assistance and support. The duration of this course is 30 or 60 days, depending on how successfully the patient is undergoing treatment and recovery. Since we are his closest relatives, we are apprehensive about him and are ready for any difficulties so that he can finally live happily and free from drugs and alcohol. At this moment, his life is in our hands, and we can save him. I am sure that these courses and psychological therapy will help him return to his everyday life and forget his complicated past. The most important thing at the moment is your decision. I do not doubt that you will be kind and forgiving to Raymond, and your decision will make this man’s life much better. Please, give him a chance to live a life worthy of him because he is capable of it. At this time, you are our main hope, please do not close your eyes and save Raymond’s life, we ask you from the bottom of our hearts.
Please, we are all asking you to help us save our relative and save his life.
I sincerely thank you for your time,
Lily Owens.
