Lewis Straus & Company has worked very hard to ensure that its spirit of individuality, hard work and authenticity is fulfilled. This has involved the way the company is run. In the end, the company has evaluated the way it dignifies people who help in bringing its products to the market.

The company has also invested in improving the future of outsourcing to the communities. This has been achieved by dedicating their time energy and resources to them. The company has a well comprehensive manufacturing code of conduct practice. In engaging with other companies, it has terms that have spelt out health, labor, safety and environmental requirements (Levi Strauss & Company, p. 4)

Suppliers are the core of the company’s business and over the years, the company has assessed them to ensure they meet their codes of conduct. They have also been monitored as a way of improving business. The company has employed assessors around the world in factories that it has contracted its suppliers. They have enabled the supplies to be able to improve on their human resource and develop systems to operate a responsible workplace (Levi Strauss & Company, p. 6). On the other hand, the company has released the names of its suppliers that have fostered collaboration with other brands. Suppliers have got a broad recognition of their efforts and improved their performances.

The community forms an integral part of the business and the company through its foundation has funded programs that strengthen working and living conditions of the communities. This is done by supporting the innovative nonprofit organizations. In the end, the company has been able to act as an agent of social change in the society (Levi Strauss & Company, p. 3.)

Shareholders and owners of the company have positioned it on a global scale as a way of growth. In return, the company has contracted suppliers in different parts of the world to supply its products (Levi Strauss & Company, p. 8). The company has reached out to many brands and organisations so that they can work together in the factories that they share. By involving the whole industry, it has send out a strong message that the company is indeed global.

Employees are supposed to be appreciated so that they can increase their productivity. More partnerships have been seen by the government to ensure strengthening of labor laws. This has allowed workers to form trade unions and be able to negotiate for their rights.

The company has a wide range of products that are supposed to ensure that the customers are satisfied. In this case, it has made its products available to the market through a wide worldwide presence. Suppliers have been assessed in many occasions so they conform to the customer needs. In the process, the company’s products have satisfied the market.

Lewis Straus strategy has been to outsource all its manufacturing operations to low wage countries (Levi Strauss & Company 2). This has received a moral test scrutiny after it lay off 20,000 employees as it finalized its transition from a clothing manufacturer to a marketing, sales and design company. It has established itself on a global scale by contracting other manufactures to supply its products in low- wage countries.

Outsourcing has paid off as many suppliers have ensured that the products reach a wide market. These makes more sense as the company has concentrated in low- wage countries. The ever-changing global business has forced the company to rethink its business and go into marketing, sales and design. In changing, the business operations it has lay off 20,000 workers and left the communities in which the plants had been operating dejected.

Shifting business from manufacturing to marketing, sales and design is necessary as far as the shareholders are concerned. The company can be said to have passed the moral scrutiny as it provided severance and job retraining packages to the affected workers and cash payments to small communities where its plants were located.

It cannot be wholesomely said that the company successfully achieved this as the economies of many small communities are yet to recover and some employees are finding it difficult to match their previous levels of compensation and benefits. This is expected of employees who were used to a specific amount of money on a monthly basis but as time goes by they will likely recover and continue with their lives.
