Cohesion and productivity are two crucial features for a team. The former is influential not only in almost every aspect of one’s business, but is highly important for efficiency as well. It is also a valuable factor in employee engagement, as it helps increase it by forming team goals and shared values. Combined with contributions to decision making and proper communication, efficiency improves, resulting in better customer service (Podium, n. d.). As mentioned earlier, the members of the team in Limited Ltd struggle with cohesion due to lack of communication. The information received by its members has been unclear, affecting different people in the organization. The statement that training is the most preferred way to address this problem is rather valid for two reasons. First, team members should feel competent enough to achieve the team goal. Second, they need every chance they can get to develop their skills. Thus, training and development can motivate team members to assess their capabilities and skills and ensure confidence in the process of completing tasks.
Productivity is important because most employers strive towards recognition and hard-working staff. The reward and motivation idea is rather valid and interesting, as team members feel seen and valid. Such a system makes them happy and more satisfied with their occupation. Happiness, in turn, makes employees more productive, which is yet another feature that the members of Limited Ltd need. Yet another advantage of recognizing employee achievement through rewards is that it ensures trust in the workplace (Hamlin, 2019). However, there are some facts that need to be taken into consideration. First, reward guidelines should be clear and concise to avoid unfairness and bias in case of announcing recipients (Tsang, 2019). That way, the employees’ performance will be improved and they will know their objectives. Second, the rewards need to be related to their work. Employees need to have a clear idea of the impact productivity and their performance have on business outcomes. By following these guidelines, the reward process will be more effective, motivation and productivity will increase, and possible conflicts will be prevented. Thus, the aforementioned information emphasizes the value of each employee in a team, as each one plays an important role in contributing to team cohesion and productivity.
