It would be reasonable to claim that recently, among the most significant global problems, the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has a considerable role. It affects the whole world, and the lives of a plethora of individuals have changed notably. Below, there will be three points proving the significance of the mentioned issues, as well as a counterclaim, which will be addressed.
First, it seems apparent that the pandemic has a great impact on the daily routine of almost every person around the globe. There are many limitations imposed by the government and international organizations – starting from the restriction of movement and ending with the ban on crowding in public places (Wilkinson 505). Most people are forced to stay at home, changing their accepted routine to a great extent.
Second, there are pieces of evidence that prove the adversity of the pandemic in terms of economic impact on all the states. According to convincing numbers, gross domestic products of every country have shown a decline, which negatively influences the quality of life of citizens, as well as the global economy. Numerous initiatives and programs have been implemented in order to address many pressing problems (Wilkinson 508). However, it will take a long time for the world to recover from the consequences of Covid-19.
Third, the crucial outcome of the pandemic for employees is the necessity to turn to remote work. In many cases, such a state of affairs implies decreased salaries, too much intersection with various devices, and an immobile lifestyle (Yoosefi Lebni et al. 299). The latter – especially – negatively affects health and causes a number of severe diseases. The counter position here is that such an approach to work may result in increased free time and new opportunities for many intellectual sectors – IT, in particular. Nevertheless, the global economic crisis resulting from the pandemic seems to overweight the benefits that can be brought by these opportunities.
To conclude, the above argumentative essay is dedicated to the issue of the Covid-19 pandemic. The three reasons proving the severity of the issue are restrictions on daily life, global economic crisis, and the necessity to work remotely. The counter position that the latter argument can be considered beneficial was rejected by the fact that the second reason – global crisis – has more serious consequences.
