If I was to go anywhere in the world, I would choose to go to the Maasai Mara. It is a Game Reserve in Africa located in the country of Kenya. This would definitely have to be my choice because of the love I have for nature, in particular wildlife. I would opt to go to the Maasai Mara because of its fame all over the world. Most of my friends who have been there telling me that it is not a place to miss once you make a trip to Africa.
They tell me that once you visit the Maasai Mara, you will always want to go back a second time and a third time. As I watched a film that featured the Maasai Mara, the aforementioned park found in Africa, I got interested in visiting the place at one time in my life. The migration of thousands of wildebeests across the river Mara, which is the seventh wonder of the world, is also another captivating moment in the game reserve.
My trip to the Maasai Mara would definitely require adequate preparation. Apart from getting a plane ticket, I would also be expected to find out the available lodges within or outside the game reserve. Once I have made the reservations, I would now be ready for the next step, which would be shopping for the trip. My shopping list will be long and adequate such that I am inconvenienced at any point on the trip.
Most countries in Africa, including Kenya, lie on the savanna grassland, thus having a hot and humid climate during most times of the year. This would therefore require me to shop for lightweight attires like pairs of shorts and sleeveless tops. A hat would be desirable because of the scorching sun in the day. A cold water bottle will also of great importance to quench my thirst as I travel through the reserve.
I am usually not a fan of experimenting with foods from different cultural groups and tend to only consume what I am conversant with. This makes me carry canned foods that I have been used to every time I go to foreign places and this trip would not be exceptional. I would also make sure that my digital camera is in good condition to carry it with me since I would definitely have to take photographs that I will show and brag to my friends. My iPod would not be left behind since I may have to listen to some music especially at night as I relax after spending the day moving round the park.
As I make my trip to the Maasai Mara I would expect to see a number of features and wildlife. I am told that the reserve is a home for the big five animals of the world that is the lion, elephant, black rhino, hippo and the wild beasts. Apart from these the park has large herds of giraffes, leopards, crocodiles in the river Mara and a big number of beautiful birds like storks and eagles. This is indeed an animal kingdom. I would expect to see the nice topography that is characteristic of the mara. This will start with a view of the Ngama hills, the Oloololo escarpment and then a view of Mount Kilimanjaro on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. I am sure I will have a fascinating trip.
