Introduction
A good sustainability report helps an organization to realize a good name outside its scope. It helps shine some light on the organization in terms of some realms like the environment, green power, recycling, and other major areas that are of the essence to the community (Martin, 2010).
Critique
The beginning part of the report is a recap of their ropes. Sustainability has been enhanced in the testing and the security measures that have been clarified by cooperation with the companies that are affiliated with it. For a real sustainability attitude though the company needs to showcase its environmental concerns.
The enhancement of better future endeavors in ecology is one of the key points that the company has insisted on. There is a focus on the future conditions of the mountaineers. This is just one of the positive things that the company has been able to achieve and portray in its report. Its coalition with the corporate social responsibility bodies enhances the sustenance of the environment through ecology. In this realm, the Company has outshone itself in the fact that it has proven that it is just not focused on the needs like profits alone but also on matters that concern environmental needs (Fair Wear Foundation, 2009).
The establishment of this corporate culture in the report is an attitude that brings out the opportunity for the company as one that values sustainability and the need to protect the environment as one of the most critical issues that are affecting the world today. The report has brought this out in a manner that tends not to appear exaggerated as most companies would do but it is in a manner that looks real. The tone that has been used to present this truth or this responsibility is a casual one which also makes the report have better and a lot of sense.
Another critical factor that has been included in this report is the integration of the company with fair wear foundations. This is a company that deals with enhancing that companies are subscribing to the “code of labor practices”. These practices ensure that the companies are fair in their products and propose whether the products are fit to be used by the public. This issue was solidified by the positive annual report which was issued by the fair wear foundation. Such a positive comment means that the company is committed to the requirements of its clientele.
Back to the issue and the presentation of how the company has enhanced corporate social responsibility, the first key concern has been set on the ecological needs of the world, corporate governance, and corporate citizenship. Fairness and sustainability have been enhanced on the report through the mention of the need of all companies to subscribe to standards that ensure that the rights of the individuals working within and without their premises are respected. This has been enhanced by the company through social responsibility orientation procedures. This is also in line with the subscription to the fair wear foundation which has been discussed as one that brings together organizations that are adherent to the needs of all users including non-governmental organizations.
The issue of corporate social commitment has been clearly output in a table. This can help the reader of the report to better understand the terminology used. Following this tabulated format is the code of labor requirements as produced by fair wear foundation in which the company is a signatory. This is essential in this report so that the reader can understand the conditions under which the works in the company are subdued too. Apart from the working conditions of the workers, the product’s condition before being sold out is explained clearly. This is one point of style that the sustainability report can be deemed to be very relevant in attaining the needed goals.
Above the conditions within the company, a sustainability report should take into account the conditions that are being maintained by the suppliers and also upon the clients. The report has already shown the fair conditions upon the clients courtesy of the fair wear foundation. On top of this, the company has proved in the report that it has gone ahead to involve its suppliers and apparel in the fair wear foundation standards. This is clear in the statement that the company sent out forms to all its suppliers to abide by the conditions subjected by fair wear. The company was very straightforward in this aspect and got very serious in the issue such that it had to suspend working with the companies that had problems with the standards and the quality expected. All this information is evident in the report.
Information has also been given on the methodology that the company employs in choosing its suppliers and business stakeholders. According to the report, all other companies that work with the company are closely monitored such that it is always enhanced that the working conditions of all are always fair. There is someone who has been chosen specifically to make sure that the workers subscribe to the labor standards and other environmentally friendly initiatives (Mammut, 2010).
Looking at the above-rated procedures which have been undertaken in the presentation of this sustainability report, it is evident that the company has subscribed to the required standards that make it sustainable. This is not the only critical objective in looking at the report but the mode of presentation is very clear and coherent. There is an inclusion of graphics and tables in the graphs which drives away the formality objective in the reader to a flowing article. Attachment of the relevant standards that the company has subscribed to is another critical factor in the enhancement of truth, commitment, and transparency which has also been stated clearly in the report.
The stakeholders involved in the presentation of this report seem to hold more core values than the limitations. Actually, there are no visible limitations though they can be seen to have incorporated goals that enhance not just sustainability but also a concern to the human rights as well. This is evident in the standards attached. The length of the report is also one area that the stakeholders have seemed to take care of as a longer report would have proved more boring to read. They hold simplicity and coherency in the presentations.
