A Multiple Mediation Model Application in Nursing
Today, depression is among the most common forms of psychopathological disorders in adolescence, as well as anxiety. This disorder reflects a typical reaction to the internal and external pressure in response to adolescence’ physical and psychological changes. The nursing cultural approach to the issue allows the specialists to analyze specific issues that the patent group faces that contribute to the disorder’s development. A multiple mediation model allows evaluating the severity of the issue and underlying problems concerning the patient’s cultural surroundings to battle the disorder based on the specific evidence effectively.
Ethnic and Cultural Aspects of Psychological Health
The aspect of cultural development is crucial in the development of personality. A person’s self-esteem and degree of loneliness play a critical role in one’s propensity to develop psychopathological disorders. These factors primarily form under the influence of the person’s family relationships and societal pressure, which are predisposed by the culture the individual belongs to. For example, non-western countries have a significant prevalence of depressive disorders among adolescents ranging from 8% to 20% (Wang et al., 2020).
Such a tendency is mainly attributable to China’s cultural pressure to succeed in highly competitive surroundings and build societal relationships. Depression gets exacerbated by the neglect and defiance of the issue due to the traditional Chinese mentality of treasuring collective success more than individual well-being. The dramatic social changes, such as economic reforms or changes in family structure, also substantially affect citizens’ well-being.
A Multiple Mediating Model
Evidence-based nursing research provides a scientific basis for psychological treatment. A good collection of data based on ethnical, cultural, and gender variables allows for a competent selection of treatment strategies and medication choice. The multiple mediating model is a statistical analysis technique that allows nurses to evaluate and analyze the research question.
The model analyzes the underlying mechanisms accounting for the relationship between variables such as a social and cultural context or perception of self and the outcome (Wang et al., 2020). It increases the understanding of both biological and psychological processes relating to the person’s cultural identity. Such a method allows one to assess the biological, cultural, and social risk factors that may predispose depression.
The following model provides evidence for nurses and administration education as it creates a clear structure of the dependability of the variables and the outcome. The case studies can be used to prove the model’s applicability and improve the staff’s performance. A multiple mediating model is also particularly relevant in intervention studies because it identifies the mechanisms of change that explain whether the treatment will be efficacious (Liu & Ulrich, 2016).
As for clinical nursing research, the multiple mediating model is also remarkably valuable as it allows one to study the health risk factors for various diseases, including depression (Liu & Ulrich, 2016). Thus, it is vital to understand the specific psychological mechanisms and cultural determinants responsible for developing depression in adolescents to promote healthy outcomes. The effective treatment strategy for depression can be appropriately designed and implemented by analyzing the variables that a multiple mediating model suggests.
The problem worldwide’s critical urgency puts particular importance in changing the nursing models used to identify and treat psychological disorders. A multiple mediating model with cultural, ethnical, and racial variables allows for the proper evidence collection and analysis and nursing education. Treatment of adolescent depression focuses on various underlying issues that the nurse needs to explore before taking action to achieve the desired treatment outcome.
