Introduction
Nike, the world-famous sportswear giant, has been selected for the analysis. Effective advertisements have supported the company’s digital marketing approach (Erkilic, 2023). Nike now has 286 million Instagram followers, 1.72 million YouTube subscribers, and 38 million Facebook fans. The company sells not simply goods but also the emotional advantages of those products in order to attract new customers (Erkilic, 2023). The brand aggressively uses social media to connect with its customers and advertise its products.
Nike’s Influencer Marketing
The company also employs influencers to market Nike’s products. Because Nike is a sports company, it began this marketing technique by striking partnerships with athletes to obtain endorsements (Musliu, 2020). The brand gradually began to employ a more advanced marketing technique called Influencer Marketing.
Nike’s employing influencer marketing was much more than marketing since athletes had a role in promotional materials and, in many cases, were the creators of the whole message and, in other circumstances, the entire product line (Musliu, 2020). As a result, they are investing their image and name in the product line in exchange for significant compensation in the event of product success.
With his internationally known Nike product line, Air Jordan, Michael Jordan is the most successful influencer and the pioneer of Nike’s Influencer Marketing technique (Musliu, 2020). Hence, in the scenario of utilizing athletes as influencers, the targeted audience creates a far stronger relationship with Nike due to the athlete’s effect on them, leading to higher revenue for the brand. In my opinion, approximately 50% of the marketing budget should be spent on social media.
Conclusion
To conclude, Nike has a considerable reach online, so it is vital to continue investing in social media, especially Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. Assuming a $1 mil ad spend, paid social, search, and video channels should receive approximately half of all digital investment. In addition, influencers play a crucial part in Nike’s marketing strategy; therefore, the focus should be online marketing, supporting athletes distributing Nike’s message, and promoting its products.
