Generated income of a nurse as a member of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners is “1075 dollars per day, 5375 dollars per week, and 258,000 dollars per year, in case she works 48 weeks” (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Committee on Practice 5). However, if one wants to employ ARNP, more than 100,000 dollars are to be spent to become able to practice. The costs include insurance, education, and license, etc. Still, the income is higher, and the profit is undeniable.
The nurse who has just entered the organization and started working needs more time of practice and more patients. Identifying their number will help to understand what amount can be gained for CPT codes. Rotation with healthcare providers let the nurse get some money for hospital rounds. There is also a bonus payment system, which depends on “productivity, quality, profit or patient satisfaction” (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Committee on Practice 6). A productivity-based bonus deals with the number of patients that consult a nurse each year. However, this system is of advantage only if the nurse practitioner is on “at least a 50% fee-for-service system” (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Committee on Practice 7).
A lot of benefits negotiations exist today. Fees are usually included in as the worker’s salary. One is to pay for the registration in the professional organization, for obtaining the license (certification exam), paper application, verification order and retake exam or recertification.
I decided to join AANP because it is the well-known organization for nurses. The membership provides many advantages and makes one feel as a part of one great mechanism.
When a person decides to become a nurse, he/she should understand that from this moment the task is to care for all patients. There is no difference who this individual is, terrorist or a representative of a general public. I would try to abstract away from this issue and treat this person like one who needs my help.
The nurse also is to respect “the worth, dignity and rights of all human beings irrespective of the nature of the health problem” (Lachman 114). Thus, I should not pay attention to the fact that the patient was wounded during the arrest. The cause of the injury would not matter when I will be concentrated on the attempts to deal with it. I should be objective and leave all my personal feelings at home. The patient should see that I am confident and do not want to hurt him/her just to revenge. I think that if this person needs punishment, one should receive it according to the laws. So my task would be to put the patient in the appropriate condition.
In case I have problems with composing myself, I should take a minute to get rid of negative thoughts and emotions. Of course, I would not leave the patient suffer and take a break. It is better to come with a co-worker so that he/she can help me to feel better. If I feel that I am not able to work with this patient, I should call another nurse and ask one to relieve me. It can be done if the patient is not severely wounded and can wait some time for another nurse to come. However, it can be dangerous to the patients’ health.
