The article does not single out a research problem or a research question. This article is based on the purpose only, which is to evaluate what types and forms of support nursing staff need in providing palliative care for persons with dementia (Bolt et al., 2020). Another aim was to compare the needs of nursing staff with different educational levels and working in-home care or nursing homes. The literature review is thorough in terms of information analysis. Case studies of other authors are used that confirm the thoughts and statistics of the researchers. This study is a questionnaire that was analyzed after the statistical collection of information. The findings are presented as percentages against the background of the survey results. The primary studies are shown and described in detail in the sections of the article.
The article includes recent studies that support and complement the collected data. Methods of analysis are used that have been applied in similar studies of recent times. This study is not meant to be a summary or summary of existing work. The work critically evaluates the collected data and compares supporting studies. The review identified gaps in the form of open questions. “Additional issues that were raised beyond the survey items included wishes for specific knowledge and skills in palliative dementia care” (Bolt et al., 2020, p. 168). No gaps were found in the literature, and the only remark is that not all sources are modern, which may slightly affect the results of the analysis.
The article consists of well-defined sections that analyze research from all sides, from goals to methods and results. The study admits some errors and highlights this in the text as a section with open questions and limitations. Each section is clearly described in the work, which allows the reader to study the necessary information. All paragraphs are interconnected, which enables readers to see the connection of the entire study and observe the development of ideas. It is safe to say that the research reflects a clear evolution of ideas.
The review does not use appropriate language suggesting preliminary results from previous studies. The paper uses definitions and supporting information to support the data to support the results, and correctly chosen research methods. The review is objective in terms of data count; however, there are errors in the way these data were collected. Polls may not always convey the actual situation of a particular case. Respondents can worry, and this can affect the question critically. Stress affects people, so the data is not always objective. On the other hand, people can embellish the situation in such a way that the problem chosen for research will seem already positively resolved, but this may also not be true.
The authors do not rely excessively on quotations from primary sources; they depend primarily on paraphrasing or using terms from other authors. This indicates that the researchers have deeply analyzed the collected literature and show their research with a personal vision of the situation, supported by additional information. There is no “further studies” section in this article, which indicates that the authors consider the study to be completed at this stage. However, some open questions and limitations should be answered, and the investigation should be expanded. The need for this study is expressed in the text, but at the beginning of the work, there is no initially derived problem that readers could focus on while studying the analysis.
