The body of a boy in a bright purple silk jacket with a big inscription THE ROYAL on it was found three days ago. The boy’s name was Andy. He was only sixteen years old. He was killed by the knife. It was stuck into his rib cage. Doctors said that the pain had been just awful. According to the police’s report, the boy had been lying and bleeding for several hours. It is an astonished and horrific fact that nobody had helped him. The boy died in loneliness, fear, and tortures when at that very moment other children had fun not far from that place of the death. The police found out that Andy had been not alone at that party but with a petty young lady Laura. She said that Andy had left the dance to get cigarettes. He had not returned for a long time, but she had not noticed his absence. It was she who had found his body. What horrible feelings she experienced during those minutes! All his body, his clothes, grass, and the ground around it were with bloody red spots. It seemed to Laura that there had not been any other color except red. She would never forget that smell.
Police investigated all the circumstances under which Andy had died. They held an inquiry into the place of the death. Not far from it they found a bottle of alcoholic drink and a lot of footprints. Later they found a drunker who said that he had not even thought that the boy had been dying. The sight of him brought tears to that drunker. Firstly, the police worked up the version, that the drunker was a killer. But very soon during the interrogation of all the participants of that evening two persons Angela and Freddie acknowledged their guilt and told how they had found Andy. Angela was so sorry for her action, she told about Andy’s horrible animal outcries of pain, about his eyes asking for some help, about Andy’s words in a whisper “Laura! Laura!” and about their fear for the Guardians. Angela and Freddie said that the thought about the chance to be accused of the death in front of the Guardians had kept them in fear. The words on Andy’s jacket THE ROYAL had stopped Angela and Freddie from helping him. Freddie explained that those large letters on the bright purple silk jacket had made him reject the thought to help that boy. They told a lot, trying to shield themselves. These children thought first of all about their safety and they did not even think that in front of them there had been lying a simple boy as they were. He wanted to grow up, build his own future, choose a car, and live with his loving. The policemen were horrified by the severity, brutality, heartlessness, and inhumanity of those children who were allowed to die a person of their age in painful tortures. They could not find any excuse for their actions. It was rather unexpected for policemen to realize that the life of that young boy had been in hands of some people, but nobody of them had even tried to help him. This fact really terrifies! People, do care about surrounding people!
