Introduction about My Research

The research under analysis was online education, its value, and its impact on society. To present a worthwhile investigation, it was necessary to use reliable and up-to-date sources, evaluate them properly and underline the main issues. The Internet is one of the most frequently used sources, where people can easily find all the necessary information about the topic. This is why I chose to research home, using Internet sources. Three articles about online education were found online and analyzed in my paper properly and clearly.

Chosen Database Is a Good Way to Start

Google and Yahoo are considered to be the most reliable and effective searching engines. I started searching for information about the most reliable databases of academic articles. Questia: Trusted Online Research was one of the leading links to make use of. To get access to this database, it was necessary to log in. I asked my friend to provide me with the required information and logged in without any trouble. Lots of interesting works about online education and academic articles, in particular, were offered at this site, and I chose two of them, which were published within several past years. Those articles were properly structured and discussed the necessity for my topic. I was pleasantly surprised that this source offered so much reliable information on my topic.

The Peculiarities of Searching at Google

I also made certain use of the searching engine, Google, to find out a reliable article about online education. When I put the word combination “online education” into searching, I was amazed at how many sources were available. However, reading each of them was impossible because of a lack of time. So, I decided to reject all the sources, which had the “.com” domain, as I was not sure about the reliability of each of them. This is why I narrowed down my search and paid attention to the sites with“.org” or “.edu” domains. Within a short period, I found a properly structured article with a clear abstract and a list of keywords, which perfectly covered my topic.

The Results of Searching

Finally, three articles on the impact and value of online education were chosen. The results were rather successful, because these articles touched upon the ideas and suggestions for both students and teachers, and I got a chance to evaluate the topic from several perspectives. Online Education: Lessons for Administrators and Instructions were a perfect source that offered facts about online teaching and the techniques, which improved online education (Singh and Pan, para.1). An Overview of Online Education was about the challenges and benefits of online education (Li and Irby, para.1). And The Evolution of a Multimedia Delivery System and Its Effects on Student Perception and Performance helped to evaluate how exactly this type of education influence students (Jones et al. 1).

Conclusion

In general, the results of the research process are rather satisfactory. To my mind, the idea to use the articles from Questia was the right decision, because this database offers reliable works only; and the idea to pay attention to sites with “.org” or “.edu” domains was helpful as well because these domains are one of the factors of information reliability. Properly chosen sources influence considerably the results of the investigation and my work in particular. If the sources are valid from the very beginning, the effectiveness of the work, in general, can be achieved on its proper level.
