A rehabilitation center is a very sensitive organisation to run in the community. It is a very important organisation in the community and, therefore, tactics must be used in relation to ensuring that every member finally goes through the entire process. The target of the institution is rehabilitating people from their addictive behaviors like drug abuse.

In most cases, the patient attends the institution through their free will. This means that they have the freedom to leave the institution if they so wish.

For an organisation that gives short term care to the patient, the relationship between the therapist and the patient should be good and professional to ensure that the patients stay until the end of the intended period. However, when changing the short term sessions into long-term sessions, the relationships between the therapist and the patient should be the number one consideration to the organisation.

For the internal patients, the organisation must consider is the specific relationships between the therapist and the individual patients. If a patient has been admitted as an inpatient, this means that he/she is very depended on the drugs and needs a very close time to time therapy.

In other words, the patient gives his/her life to the therapist for the sake of redeeming it within the specified period of time. This is why the therapist has to ensure that the patient views him as skilled person and capable to redeem him from that addictive situation. The therapist must be presentable and dependable.

For the external relationship, the organisation should know that these people meet tempting situations out there as the organisation has no power to control the drug supply to these people. Though they might not be as much depended to the drugs as those people rehabilitated internally, they have higher chances of succumbing to the addiction of the drugs.

It is, therefore, very important for the management of the organisation to involve these people with other activities especially sports. With this, the organisation is able to buy more time with the patients which may be used to monitor them well.

It is common logic that the serious patients will be more committed to these activities as compared to non-serious people. This way during the long term in rehabilitation the organisation is able to tell the patient who is ready to leave the institution from that patient who is still hooked to the drugs.

For the internal patients, there has to be a plot to make them feel at home. The nurses and the therapist should be more welcoming and worm towards the patients. They should be trained to portray a positive attitude that the patients should crave to emulate.

This way the patients will find it even easier to stick to the program fro as long as it takes. For the external patients, the place should be more of a place of solace than just a rehabilitation center.

The organisation should understand the leading key to addiction is family issues. For the external patient, this is his day to day environment. The patient should be in a position to bring his/her issues to the therapist. The nurses and the therapist employed should therefore be capable of buying the trust and confidentiality of the patients.

A long term rehabilitation center is a very important facility in the society. For better results, the facility must, however, be organised and structured with lots of skilled people to ensure that the patient receives all kinds of services. Starting this organisation is a long term commitment and, therefore, the management must ensure that every necessary requirement has been met.
