Introduction
Not all elderly people are at risk of falling; however, if one is looking for a wristwatch for an elderly individual, fall detection has to be a top focus because this population is more likely to have negative health effects from a fall (Srizongkhram et al., 2021).
Discussion
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was chosen because it is a senior smartwatch that has the mentioned feature. If the wearer does not reply to the alarm SMS within 60 seconds after falling, the device calls a pre-listed emergency contact, such as close relatives who are not far from a senior’s location. Moreover, the described device has passed a number of military tests suggesting that it is exceptionally resistant.
Owners of the Galaxy Watch 4 may easily receive and send calls or messages from their wrists thanks to the device’s compatibility with LTE phone plans. The smartwatch can link with Apple and Samsung smartphones, but as Android phones were favored throughout creation, seniors who have Android phones will find the interface to be quite familiar (Kozuch, 2022). Seniors may monitor their steps, pulse rate, sleeping, and mental stress for fitness and wellness purposes.
Conclusion
Still, despite the depicted advantages of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 for seniors, it should be admitted that such a high-tech solution has a number of limitations. Indeed, the device has a classy design – that is visible in Appendix A – but many elderly people are not well-acquainted with modern technologies. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has some technical flaws (Appendix B). These factors can be a considerable obstacle in terms of providing the mentioned population with the presented smartwatches.
