Introduction

Dear Mr. Manager,

I am the parent of two children aged three and four and I have recently registered for your summer camp. Due to the children’s passion for adventure and outdoor activities, I decided to register for your summer camp. I must say the presentation on your website seems exemplary and well organized. The descriptions used to seem simple and easy to comprehend for individuals of all ages. However, I have a complaint to pose regardless of all that.

Fraud

I must apologize first that I dropped my children late due to activities like packing and ensuring that they carried everything they needed. Any parent in my position would understand how tough it remains in terms of organizing children. After dropping my children, I had to stay around for precisely two hours in my quest to observe how activities get carried out and to assess the safety of my children. I would like to issue a refund.

To my disbelief, I noted some things that were contrary to the descriptions on your website. Moreover, some activities failed to meet the standard in which they ought to have attained. The summer camp company, on its website, claimed that activities like art, cooking, and yoga would take place. On the contrary, the kids only jumped, did some coloring, and kept running on the squash court. It remains a great violation of the rights of the consumers to offer services that seem contrary to your service description. According to the Fraud Act 2006, your summer camp seems to have violated the rules regarding honesty (Mayer et al. 33). You seem to have made a dishonest representation of the services that you provide. Moreover, your company had the full knowledge that the dishonest act would mislead parents to choose your company as the best camping destination. It also remains evident that the intention was to gain more customers for your summer camp services. The law remains very clear on such public offenses and severe consequences may be experienced as a result.

Workload

I also noted that in the summer camp 36 children ranged from 4 to 11 years old and they had four instructors. However, one instructor seemed overloaded with work as he was handling about six to seven children in the restrooms. Mr. Manager, your summer camp enterprise does not seem to have enough employees. The employees seemed to be pressured by the workload they were tasked with and hence a violation of employee rights. According to the Federal employment law, under the Health and safety law, the employees have the right to break (Sims and Hegarty 37). Due to the workload in the summer camp, there remains no room for this right. Moreover, the safety and protection of children remain not guaranteed due to the extreme workloads. Therefore, the service provider of your summer camp company seems inefficient and ineffective. The amount paid for the service is not equal to the service being provided. The instructors were also screaming and shouting at the innocent children throughout as they called them “babies”. Shouting at children was not part of the service description on your website. Many parents took their children to the summer camp to learn and have fun, however, shouting at them is deemed to be violating their rights to have fun. Every child has the right to be listened to and taken care of in a reasonable manner according to the children’s Act. I believe that the instructors acted inhumanly as a result of the workload pressure they experienced in the workplace. Even though your company in its terms and conditions stated that there would be no refunds, certain rights seem to be violated. The violation of the rights stated above has prompted me to request a refund because I was not satisfied with your service provided. If the descriptions of the services provided as per your website were in line with reality, I would not have filed for a refund. I have fraudulent claims against your company in your service provision. The service of your company was not satisfactory to the point that even the children seemed bored and at most times they were seated outside the squash courts. The older children wished they did not come to the summer camp. They opted to stay at home watching TV. The fact remained that the rate of neglecting children at the camp seemed alarming. The younger children cried as they were usually not well-taken care of by the instructors. Every child has the right to care and nurturing (Piff 21).

Another parent who also observed the activities at your camp was dissatisfied. If we decide to go to court regarding this matter, it will not end well for you as witnesses exist from parents to the children themselves. The refund law, states that a company or an enterprise must offer a full refund if an item or service seems faulty, not as it was described, or fails to accomplish what it’s supposed to attain (Lau and Johnson 14). Even though your company does not allow for refunds in its terms and conditions I am still entitled to a refund according to the consumer protection laws. Under the Sale of Goods Act, provided a consumer possesses the receipt for a certain good or service, the consumer has the right to a refund (Mishel, Bernstein, and Shierholz 24). It seems intentional for your company to remain fraudulent in its service provision and state no refunds in its terms and conditions. The act of your company remains to be something unethical and against the law. It remains misleading and does not give any consideration to the customers. The law remains very clear and precise on the consequence of individuals or enterprises found guilty of any fraudulent claims. I only ask you to provide a refund to me. A business should always ethically present itself, a way that appeals to the public (Vitell and Singhapakdi 29). I find it very unethical for your company to have presented the wrong and dishonest information on your website and even brochures.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I would like to recommend that you provide truthful information. I would also like you to increase the number of your employees and improve on the service provision. The welfare of the consumers and the public should always remain part and parcel of the company. By carrying out the above changes, your company will meet its goals and remain effective. There would be no more cases to handle in the future. Therefore, I urge you to kindly grant me a refund. Thank you and much appreciated.
