Introduction
This plan of study is written for personal reference. It’s a tool that will help the student focus evaluate and give priorities to the academic activities that are relevant to his course. The plan offers the planner an opportunity to assess the current academic success needs as well as the future needs.
It will also function as a tool for the student to evaluate the academic activities in order to tailor them to meet his academic success needs (Melbourne, 2009, p. 67). Furthermore, it will help the planner to wisely manage his time resources to meet the academic needs.
The direction of this plan depends on the professional goals of the student (Black & Anestis, 2009, p. 278). The plan will emphasize on the strengths of the planner. According to Burkingham & Clifton (2005, p. 205), it’s important for students to focus on developing their strengths than shoring up their weaknesses.

Belief will be necessary in the achievement of the professional aspirations listed below.
1. Case Management focusing on administration and leadership in community services
2. Clinical Intervention Specialist working with children/ and or adolescents
3. Mental Health counsellor for people of all ages
4. Substance and drug abuse counselling for children and young adults
5. Business owner Consultant Company: Providing contractual services to the homeless, mentally ill and substance abusing client populations benefit of achieving
Academic goal: A success full completion of Master of Science Human Services program is sure to accord a student a prestigious career in the field. It’s important to note that this plan will be implemented immediately. Therefore, all the strategies listed will start taking place now.
Strategies
Strategic & learner
The strategies listed below will be important in achieving academic as well as career goals. The planner will need to have the strategic and learner qualities to successfully implement them.
- Reading and understanding about time management and memory techniques and mnemonics. Printing and effectively using a planned weekly schedule and the time use chart. This will in the proper management of time while attending to the events as defined. It will also help in ensuring attendance in all classes without fail.
- Frequent reading about test taking strategies. Development of a note taking system that will help in easy memorization of key points and concepts covered in class.
- Consistent reading motivational literature. After reading, the planner will always send a question and/or comment to the study strategies teaching assistant for guidance in the study process. Seeking assistance always from the peer tutor on the areas not well understood. The peer tutor will help in understanding the concepts and skill not well understood.
- Attending regularly study strategy and learning styles workshop to refresh learning stills
Relator
Ability to easily interact with people easily and a positive attitude will be crucial in networking.
- Interacting with professionals from the Human Services field for networking and engaging in voluntary activities to gain experience. This will be through seminars and charity events with a focus on human services.

- Taking a review of personal progress from time to time to determine the effectiveness of the strategies and any modifications that will be necessary.
- Self-reward for any success achieved, it’s a good way to motivate ones self.
- Interaction with people with positive view and similar interest. They will come in handy in providing motivation for learning.
