For a preschool teacher, one of the most important functions is to promote children’s social and emotional development. In this way, children can thoroughly socialize and participate in later life and its social aspects of interacting with other children. In this regard, a necessary quote for them will be emotional regulation, with the help of which children can learn to recognize and manage their emotions.
To develop this skill, one should focus on the age group of children from 3 to 4 years old when conducting classes in preschool class. The reason for learning is to provide children with mechanisms to adequately respond to the actions of others. To find strategies and plans to help with the learning work, I looked at various resources, such as the Child Mind Institute, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL). They contain much important information that can help shape the right approach.
Based on my research, I can highlight my approach to learning, which includes several strategies. First, it is important to use visual aids, pictures, and tables. In this way, children can be helped to visualize their emotions and promote their understanding (Young). In addition, an essential aspect of learning will be the implementation of social and role-playing games in the learning process. This way, children can be taught how to react to certain situations and act correctly. An example of such interaction can be preparing a game scenario so that children share valuable toys. In this way, they will learn to deal with their emotions better. Another element of a learning strategy might be teaching children ways to soothe their emotions. This may include proper breathing techniques to control upset.
It should be noted that the emotional and social component is one of the most critical aspects of the development of children. In this regard, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention to this practice. Properly teaching them to recognize their emotions can help children better deal with stress later on. To develop specific skills, it is necessary to use various methods such as visual aids and role-playing games.
