Promethean Board
The first two technologies essential for supporting teachers’ learning (LoT) in the 21st century are the Promethean Board (PB) and Parent Square (PS). PB is a leading brand in the digital board market, designed to enhance the educational process (Cotarelo & Redondo, 2022). PBs are similar to tablets but with significantly larger displays, offering richer interaction with objects (Cotarelo & Redondo, 2022). For example, PBs can produce graphical and moving elements that would be impossible to display on traditional boards (Cotarelo & Redondo, 2022).
Parent Square
Another important technology for instructors is PS, an application that focuses on creating strong parent-teacher communication (Shamash et al., 2022). For instance, educators can send documents and messages to their students’ families, collect permission forms, share newsletters, and schedule conferences using PS (Shamash et al., 2022). Consequently, I would leverage both technologies by training my colleagues to use these instruments to increase productivity. Although the discussed tools may not seem to enhance LoT, they do so by helping teachers save time that can be spent on acquiring new knowledge and advancing their competencies.
Zoom
One additional technology necessary to facilitate LoT is Zoom. Available on various platforms, Zoom provides web-based conferencing features (Anggraheni et al., 2020). For example, Zoom enables the simultaneous use of text, audio, and video components alongside whiteboards and shared screens (Anggraheni et al., 2020). As a result, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, educators have started using Zoom to conduct online classes and maintain contact with their learners (Nuraziza et al., 2021).
Nonetheless, Zoom is now employed as a synchronous instrument for teacher training via the Internet (Anggraheni et al., 2020). Accordingly, I would utilize Zoom to support my colleagues’ learning by conducting online meetings with various experts who would instruct them on advancing their skills. I would use Zoom to enable my coworkers to access new information without needing to spend time and resources traveling to a specific location.
