By this article, we just want to say that rehabilitation therapy is very important for the benefit of the patients. As the main job of any Prosthetics or Orthotics professional is not only to give medical treatment but should also use other rehabilitation treatments.
Main body
According to the various data collected there was strong evidence for multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation for patients with stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, moderate to severe brain injury, and older adults. There are also several diagnostic conditions treated in rehabilitation including amputation. But there are no systematic reviews that examined multidisciplinary therapy-based rehabilitation in Prosthetics and Orthotics field. But we can say that the rehabilitation and usage of multidisciplinary therapy are very important for Prosthetics and Orthotics professionals. The main job of this professional is to not only to provide.
Patient with artificial limb but also to give him a new lease of life and hope. And for this rehabilitation is very necessary. The process of rehabilitation begins as soon as the process of amputation is considered. Rehabilitation after amputation is necessary because it helps the patient to adjust psychologically to the injury. Nowadays there is a large increase in multidisciplinary therapy-based rehabilitation focused to improve the psychological condition of the patients and helps in the speedy recovery. After amputation, the main task is to getting acquainted with a new limb and use it efficiently. However, studies show that the mental acceptance of the limb is also very necessary. The patient can suffer from low self-esteem, anxiety, and all sort of depressing things. Poor social attendance and physical disability only add to the trauma. So early intervention is necessary for these patients and a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach is necessary for this. The rehabilitation services include counseling, giving advice, and information. Therefore special therapy-based interventions are needed. These therapies included outpatient and intense inpatient therapies.Community-based rehabilitation can also be used. Socializations and multidisciplinary settings such as home care, individual or group therapies are also used. Research has shown that multidisciplinary outpatients therapies are more important than regular treatments and multidisciplinary inpatients therapy is more effective than multidisciplinary outpatients therapies. Many patients also suffer from prosthesis rejection. So early rehabilitation is needed to deal with all these issues. Intense inpatient rehabilitation can increase the patient’s condition phenomenally and increases the chances of early returning to home. All the professionals should monitor the rate of success of these rehabilitation centers or the use of Transdisciplinary practices. This would present a better understanding of the situation and provide a platform for further practices. It would also improve the quality of the treatments. There are not much researches done in this area but by adopting various strategies and practical experiences one could tell what types and levels of rehabilitation services are needed. These will also cover the gaps to ensure all the patients’ needs are fulfilled.
Conclusion
At last, we can say that the professional should be aware of the patient’s mindset and psychological condition. They should be aware of all, the issues regarding the rehabilitation of the patients. In the last, we can say that Prosthetics and Orthotics professionals should be more aware of all the dilemmas and psychological issues faced by the patients. It should engage itself more in multidisciplinary practices which helps more in the rehabilitation of the patients. There should be more research, work, and innovation to be done in this field.
