The topic selected
The selected topic for this exercise includes pets.
The concept or learning fact about the topic
Common pets will be the main focus of the task, with students being able to identify pet types and relevant words. Pets are often cited as being beneficial to the children’s learning process, especially in regard to STEM subjects, as animals enhance interest in the learning process (Raupp, 2021). The biological function of pets is the main subject in which students should become curious and engage. The understanding of the differences between organisms is an important concept and is more accessible and interesting to students through conversations about pets. Students’ ability to formulate questions regarding the lives and functions of pets is an integral part of the activity.
The indoor classroom learning center selected to provision
The indoor learning center selected for this experience will be the art learning center. A creative atmosphere will allow students to accumulate knowledge while making a piece of informative work that reflects their learning. They will be able to complete tasks individually or in small groups.
Different materials for the learning center
As such, the necessary materials will include blank canvases, such as paper, textured materials, and varied tools to write or draw. Throughout the discussion about pets, students will be able to create illustrations and textured pieces with the obtained materials. This will assist students with memorizing keywords by having visual and kinesthetic elements throughout the process.
Tier 1, 2, and 3 words that will expand children’s vocabulary
There are two important words for each tier; the first tier, which includes words students have previously learned, is ‘pet’ and ‘care.’The second tier, which is especially important as it will be newly introduced words are ‘unruly’ and ‘splay.’The third-tiers words are more specific to the domain of pets and include ‘predators’ and ‘herbivores.’
