Abstract
The aviation industry plays a crucial role in people’s lives and the environment. However, this industry contributes to climate change and creates significant environmental concerns because it produces a great amount of carbon emissions. To reduce this negative impact, the idea of using biofuels in aviation has been developed. Nevertheless, this implementation has benefits and challenges, as technological progress and the acceptance of this fuel method are essential for the successful development of this idea. It is essential to research the acceptance of biofuels in aviation and understand the factors that can influence their widespread adoption.
Background and Problem
Various studies have been conducted about the impact of biofuel on the environment and examples of its implementation. Firstly, the study by Jeswani et al. (2020) emphasizes the role of biofuel in the environment and describes how this type of fuel can reduce carbon emissions. Secondly, the case study by Betancourt et al. (2020) provides a practical example of biofuel use in military aviation, including its drawbacks and advantages. Lastly, the study by Malode et al. (2021) indicates valuable insight into the production of biofuel and the challenges that can be faced during this process.
However, there is no information about public response and acceptance of such alternative methods. In addition, there are no statistics about the level of awareness about the impact of biofuel on the environment, so it is possible to state that people do not have enough knowledge. That is why further research is needed on the public’s perception and acceptance of biofuel in aviation.
Research Questions
- How can biofuel contribute to decreasing the negative environmental impact of the aviation industry?
- What factors should be included while analyzing people’s acceptance of this form of fuel?
- How does the public react to this notion, and do they accept biofuel?
Hypotheses
Biofuel can decrease the environment’s harmful effects by using non-harmful components that create low carbon emissions. The high level of awareness of the negative impact of normal fuel compared with biofuel and increased knowledge about carbon emissions affect the public’s acceptance of the new form of fuel. The public’s acceptance of biofuel depends on their awareness of its benefits and positive outcomes.
Aim and Objectives
The study will investigate the impact of biofuel use in the aviation industry and analyze its effect on the environment and the industry. It will indicate the factors that influence the widespread use of biofuel and examine the public reaction and acceptance of this alternative fuel.
Study Design
This study will utilize the mixed-research method to examine each part of the issue from different points of view accurately. The research will be based on relevant data and research, but questionnaires and surveys will also be conducted to examine the impact and acceptance of biofuel in the aviation industry practically. As a result, questionnaires will ensure the qualitative part of the study, and data analysis will be quantitative.
Sampling
The topic affects professionals and the general public, so the target audience includes aviation workers, the general public, and stakeholders. The respondents would come from different organizations related to the aviation industry, but also include representatives of public institutions. The questionnaires will be used to ask all chosen respondents, and people will be divided into groups to analyze their position on the issue.
Data Collection
To collect primary data from respondents, questionnaires and surveys would be used. Existing literature analysis will be conducted to analyze the issue and conduct accurate research. The questionnaires would be semi-structured and consist of different questions to examine the topic from different perspectives, and leave space for open-ended answers. This method is valid as the primary data would be gathered from respondents, so the appropriate and accurate position on the public’s acceptance of biofuel would be assessed.
Data Analysis
A mixed method of data analysis will be used to ensure the most efficient understanding of the issue. Qualitative methods would be used in questionnaires to ensure the accurate analysis of people’s positions on the issue. Quantitative analysis will consist of correlation analysis, statistical data, and the examination of relationships between the hypothesis and relevant evidence.
Ethical Considerations
The research would consider the ethical background, such as ensuring that all questionnaire participants are willing to participate. Their confidentiality would be ensured, and all data would be protected, with the minimization of probable risks.
