The topic of stress experienced by clients and that can be transmitted to social workers is essential for research. This is because specialists must recognize that various negative factors can impact them and affect their productivity. The academic literature suggests that transference refers to an unconscious process that is shaped by the way people experience different emotions in the past (Lewis & King, 2019; Ozturk, 2022).
This type of question suggests that there is a possibility that social workers’ own lives may be affected by the transmission of stress. Researcher Morey (2022) agrees with this and suggests that a stressful environment can affect not only specific social workers but also the whole team atmosphere. In this way, stress transfer can impact how social workers perform their duties and manage personal issues.
The study’s expected results can be confirmed by examining the scientific literature. Many scholars suggest that stress may tend to be transmitted, thereby reducing the enjoyment of work, which is necessary for providing comprehensive care (Abargil et al., 2023). Thus, this confirms the expected results that many scientists refer to as negative consequences for social workers. Transference is a process in the relationship between client and professional that is reflected in the fact that negative experiences or fears propagate through the emotional background (Nissen-Lie et al., 2022). Thus, stress can interfere with a social worker’s work due to a decrease in morale.
The methodology for studying any important issue requires the selection of appropriate tools to identify the most accurate result. One common approach is the use of a quantitative method, which has allowed many scientists to study the issue based on multiple data sources (Lewis & King, 2019). This method can also be used to study related topics, such as stress and its associated concepts. By gaining a better understanding of this process, scientists can acquire a more detailed understanding of its nature and transmission (Acevedo et al., 2020).
In addition, an essential methodological approach in this matter is a qualitative methodology, such as conducting interviews and social surveys. With their help, scientists were able to identify the factors that contribute to the spread of stress among people (Abargil et al., 2023). Thus, we can say that the scientists whose works have been studied put forward statements regarding the fact that stress tends to affect specialists negatively.
When researching a topic, scientists must consider several essential factors. One of them is the process of studying stress while respecting the confidentiality of both clients and social workers. Ethical considerations are crucial for conducting meaningful research that provides answers to the work’s objectives (Lewis & King, 2019; Nissen-Lie et al., 2022).
The subjective nature of transference can also lead to problematic situations, as individuals may perceive it in different ways. Many scientists note that the perception of stress varies among individuals, which may lead to the fact that measurements of its level do not accurately reflect reality (Morey, 2022; Acevedo et al., 2020). Therefore, problematic situations should be taken into account, as they can significantly affect the results obtained and render the final data unclear.
