The first step is to develop the personal qualities associated with leadership and management. This is possible through properly assessing one’s capabilities and prioritizing professional activities (American Nurses Association, 2021). Secondly, one must choose a benchmark that will allow to a rationally assess required actions and determine their value in practice. It will help in maintaining a realistic view of practice and developing social relationships to cope with the moral strain received. Social relationships will create a culture in which trust will be a significant aspect of the rational practice (The Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare, 2012). Finally, it is essential to pay attention to how social support is organized and the individual’s place in it. The possibility of developing a system of feedback and consultation should be evaluated to check practices against not only standards of care but also social strategies. In addition, this will keep nurses from professional burnout and facilitate the ability to cope with stressful situations (Garcia-Izquierdo et al., 2018). These steps can strengthen resilience and make it a pronounced trait in nursing practice.
The best way to disseminate information is conversations where the implemented changes are discussed. Patients should be notified about how feedback is received and why specific actions are being taken. Newsletters can be prepared to present the strategies added in the context of their impact on care. With nurse colleagues, it is best to hold a team meeting: this format helps to inform as many people as possible. A list of the strategies and regulations being implemented should be prepared for the meetings and introduced in the form of a presentation, as well as a set of polices, if any exists (American Nurses Association, 2021). In addition, a weekly meeting format can be used to track integrated results and report back to management.
