Role of Health Education in Health Promotion
Public health education is of great importance in strengthening health. It helps people develop skills to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Public health education provides information on healthy eating, exercise, lifestyle, and other essential health issues. The nursing process is used in planning, developing, and implementing public health education.
This process includes diagnosis, goal setting, planning, and evaluation. The target audience, such as families, should be considered, and research on topics related to their health should be conducted. A well-thought-out information policy is then used to help achieve optimal results.
One of the global problems a family may face is overpopulation. An increasing population can lead to resource shortages and environmental degradation. To address the issues associated with overpopulation, nurses can take steps to develop public health education (Nutbeam, 2019). This can include conducting research to identify population needs and providing solutions, running educational programs, organizing a dialogue between regional and international stakeholders, and providing access to resources to support responsible parenting policies.
The nurse must also be alert and ready to detect signs of domestic violence and child or elderly abuse. It is essential to know and understand the key signs that may indicate a problem in the family (Nutbeam, 2019). These include recurring or periodic delicate and characteristic traces of abuse, periodic absences from school, increased fear or aggression, and pathological symptoms of depression. Studying population needs is one of the main tools nurses can use when developing public health education (Sharma, 2021). With access to resources such as the Internet, books, pamphlets, and lectures, nurses can explore health problems and offer solutions.
They can also organize training events, discussions, and other activities to help people get the necessary information. Nurses can also use media and social networks to spread information about healthy lifestyles. These tools will help people improve their health and prevent diseases.
Characteristics That Lead a Provider to Suspect Domestic Violence
The nurse must take measures to prevent and control law-related problems. She must use a law enforcement prevention policy when interacting with offenders and their families. Offenders must be warned of the consequences of violating the law and being punished. Additional programs such as drug abuse prevention programs, violence prevention and control programs, and child protection programs should also be offered (Pereira et al., 2020). These programs should support a healthy and safe lifestyle and help people raise healthy and prosperous children.
In our institution, we follow a protocol to prevent domestic violence and cruelty to children or older adults. Our procedure involves the following steps: preventive review, access to information about residence and other home conditions, development of a necessary counteracting program, and an interview with a family representative (Ghani et al., 2019). Our staff constantly provides professional support and training to family partners and children in their homes. In case of suspicious signs of domestic violence, we immediately contact law enforcement agencies and provide them with all necessary information.
We are also ready to provide psychological help to the family if needed. In case of domestic violence symptoms, the service provider should strive to provide the family with the necessary support. We offer such support as finding material resources, psychological help, and planning a safe move (Pereira et al., 2020). In cases where additional support is required for maximum efficiency, we offer cooperation with social services and other agencies.
Our institution closely monitors the signs of domestic violence and takes the right actions to prevent the problem. We conduct awareness campaigns about domestic violence, calling on people to seek help and support in case of a problem. We also run training programs that help people prevent domestic quarrels and find a solution to the problem without using harsh measures. Our goal is to help people understand how to relate to each other with understanding and without using violence.
